Considering that it looks like a lot of content for each expansion is decided on during the start of the previous expansion, how about we come together and think up the Jobs we'd like to see in 6.0

… Because yes, game development does require planning that far ahead. A quote I saw in a recent thread says Viera for Shadowbringers was basically decided back at the start of 4.0; and I do know a lot of people wanted Dancer for a long time (as far back as when they thought Dancer was coming in Stormblood), and we've now got it.

Right now, all I'm sure people want is a new healer; because they didn't announce one. I've seen "chemist" suggested a few times ages ago, as a healer Job that uses either some kind of dart gun or potion spray gun... Or I guess just straight out shooting healing magic out of it after pumping vials of ether into it, but whatever.

I haven't heard much on what people would want for the next DPS class (if any), so I'm just going to suggest Gun Mage... Now I'm sure someone is gonna make a joke about how the Aethero-pack of the Machinist already makes them a Gun Mage; but consider that the Machinist's weapons have almost all had physical barrels for shooting the bullet out of... What about Gun Mage's weapons being more like Blasters? As in Ray Guns and other energy weapons? They could even have a floating array of magi-bits.

Aside from that, there's also the fact that since we don't have hammers, and yet a boss was announced that HAS a Hammer... It would be nice to get a hammer Job that DOES have a hammer in the expansion following... Maybe something inspired by the last Final Fantasy character I saw that had a Hammer (Cid, from... I think it was Final Fantasy IV? The one with Cecil and Kain). That said, given precedent of big weapons, that would probably be a Tank Job.

On another note: I'd like to see a few more Jobs that use some existing weapons with a different side arm... Sword and Gun is a classic one, and I recall right before Machinist was announced when everyone was wondering what the Gun Job would be and tossing around what it would be called... I recall Spy and Pirate being tossed around, along with Musketeer; and honestly, I am reminded constantly of how Limsa Lominsa has people trained to use guns... In a different style from Machinists. Such as one character in the early Rogue Quests. Otherwise, not sure if this one idea really has anything going for it.

Anyways, I've rambled enough; anyone have their own ideas on what kind of Jobs they want to see for 7.0?
