    Bug found with HDMI Switch

I want to do some more testing on this myself, such as whether or not it occurs when I am NOT in the game itself, and use the HDMI switch.

Anyway, on to the details. I have a self-built computer, with a GeForce GTX 660 video card. I have a DGFAN 5x1 4kUHD HDMI Switch to connect my computer, PS4, WiiU, and other systems to the same monitor (monitor has built-in speakers). I play Final Fantasy XIV on the computer, not a console system.

Right now I'm *trying* to sit at the summoning bell, and just send retainers out over and over to stock up on fire and wind shards to last me for a bit of crafting. Since the wait can be long, I figured I would switch back and forth between a game on my PS4 and my computer. I can switch to the PS4 with no problem. But when I switch back to the computer to check on my retainers, Final Fantasy crashes. It LOOKS like it's actually a problem with video and audio, as the errors it brings up are related to DirectX and audio files.

And those are the two things connected through my HDMI switch.

I have done this three times, to test and make sure I can repeat the result each time. Sure enough, when I come back to my PC, the game has crashed. I wouldn't be surprised if the switch causes it's own set of issues, as it causes problems if I shut down the *computer* and then go to my (already powered-on) PS4. But in this case, nothing else on the computer is affected except Final Fantasy.

Just an update... I just tried switching to my PS4 while I had this window open (using the Google Chrome browser) and the game crashed anyway. So I don't necessarily need to have the game displayed on my screen when it crashes from the switch-over.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

How long have you been experiencing this issue? Does this crash happen with a different program or is it just with Final Fantasy XIV? Also could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Hope to see you online!

It’s the audio swap. XIV doesn’t like the sound source cancelled or switched on PC. It crashes.
