Ultima (can blms have it please)

"Oh hey can you throw this into a L80 spell?"
Next expansion happens.
"Oh can you invent Ultima 2? I know it's never happened in FF, but..."
Next expansion happens.
"Oh hey do we get Ultima 3 now that we're on this slippery slope?"

To be fair, in some games there were Ultima II and Ultima III versions. It wasn't very common but has been done before. I don't want it in FFXIV but it's a possibility.

That's why I find the "Ultima is the ultimate spell!" argument a bit weak overall. Yes, it is. But BLMs could just get a Demi version like Summoners get Demi summons.

BLM getting demi ultima could be fine cos the ultima beast uses it in fractum hard, but it could only use it because it was some freakish allagan experiment.

There has been Ultiga (Ultima III) in some Nintendo FF games. It is not very popular as I said though and Ultima is usually considered the strongest Black Magic spell but... they could do a lot to give some kind of Ultima to BLMs.

Dark, Comet, Scourge (name could be repurposed like DRK's Delirium, thought the BLM spell was more of a Poison-Kill move, so might be made into a SCH/SMN skill), Temper (more of a RDM thing tbh), Raze, Shade, Jihad (Doomsday), Ardor. These are the major BLM spells that are missing from BLM's arsenal in ffxiv.

Demi-Ultima seems appropriate.

As for "rocket science" for BLM is concerned, please don't dumb the job down any further than it already has been, thank you. I understand that many people who play the class just want to see a big number and AFK in their cool robes in town, but many of us enjoy playing it at endgame and don't want it to be boring.
