Must've missed that line in the short story, still makes the whole thing annoying.Unfortunately for Nanamo's character development, a lot of the aftermath was covered off-screen in the sidestory For Coin and Country and not really touched on in-game - short version, she realises dissolving the sultanate (and particularly her handling of it) was a bad idea and abandoned it.
To the walk of shame for dropping that plot point I say

That said, there's enough relevant plot-points that are in the short-stories that we should know by now to read them. This includes stuff like Alphinaud and Alisae's reasons for coming to Eorzea, how Aymric and Estinean met, what Ysalye was doing with Hrasevelgr between the Aery and when she showed up at Azys Lla, what Alisae was doing for most of ARR, how M'nago knows Lyse, the circumstances that Raubahn was in when he adopted Pipin, how Zenos and Yotsuyu met, what Esninean was doing before SB, what Fordola is doing after SB, and how Cid and Nero met.
It just feels like we should know to read those stories when they come out. Also, they are on-line for free: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes.../#side_storyes

Arent there are some unique stories that were released in the 'Chronicles of Light' compendium as well?

Yep. This is from the product description.
Now if only the book would get out of pre-order...In addition, the book contains four new chapters penned by the development team:
“The Hunt Begins” offers a glimpse into Zenos’ past.
“The Players and the Pawns” details the struggles of Hancock and Tataru in Kugane.
”Ever After” features Hien and the recovery efforts of Doma.
“The Samurai Who Couldn't Die” follows Gosetsu on his travels after the events in the game.
At this point when somebody dies I just let out a soft "oh no", and expect to see them return in a couple of patches or so.
If anything I want Papalymo to come back if only for the reason that it might make Lyse a tolerable character again.
Just gonna... lowkey add that to my signature...
