Elidizenos is not the same. he's an Ascian, and he has Zenos's body. Defeating a Ascian is much harder than defeating a Primal, it's taken very specific circumstances, and immence amounts of aether, to kill an Ascian, and this is apparently the top Ascian, stronger than all of the others.

Then we account for the fact that we didn't defeat Zenos one-on-one the first time, it was a group effort.
Then we add in the fact that we're currently weakened by the fact that we're periodically being called to another plain of existence.

An addendum

It's debatable if we even technically beat ElidiZenos. Normally if you kill the vessel(even if the vessel's a corpse, like we saw in the SMN 50-60 quests) the Ascian is forced out and needs to either retreat to the emptiness between worlds or find a new vessel. Instead, we killed Zenos's body and Elidibus just willed it back up. Even if the WoL didn't seem tired after one round, what about after the second? third? It'd boil down to a test of endurance, and we don't even know if it would be possible to force Elidibus out given infinite stamina and time. Even if we did, the Garleans could just clone a new Zenos for him.

We'd need to deliver a killing blow against Elidibus then and there, and we don't have white auracite, a borderline infinite wellspring of aether, or the resources to even start trying to get them.

He has Zenos body without the primal thus the body itself should be weaker. Elidibus is also an emissary so we dont really know if he is that powerful or not but we also dont know if they keep most of their power if they take over a host. He did use some Ascian attack but I am not sure if that makes him more powerful.

We also defeated Prime Middy and Omega, both are not primals. Zenos being a group effort depends on if you see the gameplay mechanic on having a group of strangers with you as canon or not. Honestly why would the old Zenos even be happy to be our enemy if we just defeated him with 7 other people? That does not sound great at all.

In the end on one hand we got weaker through the calling and seemingly Elidzenos cheated death. So why would we need the other scions? We would only need something to keep him from getting back up (maybe something to throw him out of that body) and we should have no problem. Yet Tataru makes it sound like we would not even be able to do that alone.

It just feels like a very bad reason to leave the world behind and to go to the shard.

MY THOUGHTS FOR PATCH 4.56:

I was quite disappointed that Main Scenario was really short, but I still enjoyed it. Role playing as Hien was unexpected and it was pretty fun fighting against Elidizenos as him while my WoL rushes to the battlefield (I was like, "HURRY UP REN!"). The final battle of Stormblood - my WoL vs. Elidizenos - was quite satisfying; I danced around his attacks and defeated him in one shot! XD I kinda freaked out when the Call happened in the middle of the fight and I thought for sure that my WoL may have gotten sliced. Speaking of the Call, that Enigmatic Figure is TOTALLY G'raha Tia, the signs are too obvious, can't change meh mind! I screeched and cried a little tears of joy when I saw Aymeric again (MEH FUTURE HUSBAND, I LOVE HIM!); I screeched even more when I learned that Estinien saved my WoL's life (I wish there was a cutscene for that moment). Elezenos making his little speech kinda sounded motivational if you ask me; it was like he was telling us to enjoy ShB lol. At the very end with Varis, his expression made me feel a little uneasy. Why do I feel that the Varis we see isn't really him, but that's Solus posing as him. I could be wrong, but that was what my intuition was telling me. Some of the things that others have mentioned like how do we become the WoD, what happened to the Scions, etc. all of that will be revealed in ShB mostly. As Yoshi P says, "PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO IT!!" ;D

HILDEBRAND:

The ending was meh, but I wanna THANK YOU SO MUCH SE for letting us have the Manderville Mambo; seeing my WoL dance with the rest of the Hilde cast was a cherry on top!

Watching threads and posts on the theory it's G'raha Tia, and I think the idea is brilliant...but the question of why doesn't the WoL know his voice bugged me. Out of that I thought of an alternate explanation. Tell me what you think. - The WoL doesn't recognize the voice because it's not G'raha. It's his forebearer that was given the gift of Allagan blood by Princess Celena (sp?). He is on the first shard, in that crystal tower and has been asleep with that tower because he shut it down to deny Xande acess to that shard. He and the tower were awoken due to the imminent destruction of the shard. As to how he's 'calling' folks he doesn't know...he's using G'raha's memories (seeing as how he's currently connected to the other tower). This would also explain why Lyse hasn't been called, G'raha didn't know her, he knew Yda. Lol sorry this is so long. Well what do you think?
