Eh, I don't quite read it that way. He was ready to go for round 2, having already weakened you considerably. Yes, the calling presented an opportunity but also a big risk in that it could be Hydaelyn, so he had to be swift but alas, you were whisked away before he could do much else. It's also pretty clear he was experimenting with the body's potential at that stage. So I'm not inclined to agree.

As for Solus, I think it all just lines up nicely with setting the stage for a betrayal, perhaps to satisfy his own megalomaniacal ambitions and unseat Elidibus from his role, or something even "better". Pretending to be Varis and using his own lines through his mouth makes for a nice bit of theatre.

Just bear in mind that the fact that this is a duty finder sole fight does somewhat limit how much they can do with it. That is always the issue with inferring too much from combat mechanics. The fact that Elidibus just pulled himself back up, whilst having severely weakened the WoL, isn't hinting to me that he's shown the full extent of his power, although he concedes that you are a powerful WoL and that Hydaelyn chose well. He used a small subset of the abilities the Overlords typically possess, and some of Zenos's, which I found interesting. He then just left when you were whisked away. It does seem like original Zenos is setting himself up for a rather wild ride, though. The bigger issue I had with Elidibus's portrayal is that Solus is just playing him for a fool, especially if the Emperor in that scene was Solus. Elidibus is no idiot. He's also not lost his composure or level headedness, and yet Solus does appear to be working some manner of deceit upon him.

Regarding Solus, there were prior cutscenes in 4.5 implying that he may be headed to the Source to wreak some havoc with the Black Rose, the production of which has only now begun. To me it looks like Solus has taken hold of Varis and is intent on causing as much chaos as he can on both worlds. I am also anticipating that he will betray Elidibus

I didn't really get the impression we were weakened by our fight with Elidizenos, more that G'raha wouldn't stop trying to call us in the middle of the fight. It's hard enough to have a conversation with Raubahn with him kicking the door to our soul down, let alone sustain combat with a foe like Elidibus using Zenos' body.

    Nice catch Remus!
Thanks for the tip there! That was really interesting; hearing about the Thirteenth's WoL's (iirc that's what he was) opinion on the First's situation was neat.

    Regarding the reason for Darkness
Haven't read all the posts here, but "sowing seeds of Darkness", with what we already know, sounds exactly like perhaps we must assume the role of Darkness in other worlds, as to balance the flood of light in ours and prevent the next calamity.

    Something something?

I don't know if I may ask this here, but, what is from the game scenario point of view "Light" and "Darkness" ?
What does this mean to "spread Light" or "spread Darkness" ?

Doing "good" things ? Saving people ? = Light ?
Spreading darkness means making them suffer ?

I'm really confused about their definition.

We still don't have a clear definition, though it is known that killing off Ascians is one way to cause a harmful shift in the balance, which implies they're somehow key in maintaining the order.

It would likely be a very bad idea to destroy Elidibus if the chance ever presented itself and considering that he now seems convinced getting rid of us is the best way to restore the balance, that's likely going to become an issue in ShB.

The only thing that seems certain is that things are going to become a big mess when Varis, Elidibus, and Solus all seem to have different ideas about what needs to change in the world.

    MSQ spoilers

While I liked the bits of story we got,the conclusion is weaker than how Heavensward handled it and the tension of Illberd summoning Shinryu up until our activation of Omega

I don't think splitting 4.5 into two parts was a good idea when it had less meat than what 3.5 had. Also as good as the ElidiZenos solo instance was(minus the Hien part),I wished it was a trial as we already fought Zenos in solo instances 4 times before this. And I hate how the Estinien Vs Zenos fight was off-screen

It's not bad,it was still exciting but just not enough meat to worth seperating the patch into two parts.....tho I legit am digging what they're cooking up for Zenos as a villain.I was fearing he'd face Thordan's fate and unceremoniously vanish from the plot to pave the way for a different villain(Thordan was good but it's so clear it was nidhogg we're seeking to defeat not so much Thordan himself who also used nidhogg's eye) but the fact that his presence is still felt around u as both Elidibus possessing his old body and EleZenos working his way through the alliance+garlean armies to get his body back and catch up with the warrior of light.
So yeah while lacking in content I was satisfied with the story bits we got even if it wasn't executed as gracefully as heavensward's 3.5 or ARR's 2.5 were and I can't wait to see what Zenos's role will be in Shadowbringers

Now that we‘ve seen and heard a little more of him, I came up with a theory!

    MSQ:

I can‘t help but think that Elezenos is Estinien. That we didn‘t see anything of how we got saved by „Estinien“, as Aymeric said, and Elezenos saying “My enemy. My friend. Had I been but a step faster...“ kinda makes me wonder if his identity was the reason they hid the whole scene from us. His face also resembles Estinien‘s quite a lot, the only difference I can see is the eye colour. But as they say, the eyes are the gates to a person‘s soul right? Aymeric also mentioned that Estinien was not a man of many words. Hearing now, that Elezenos still has Zenos‘ voice would explain to me why he did not speak. The fact that Estinien and Zenos both fused with Nidhogg‘s eyes could also hint at a connection. Maybe even that Estinien destroyed the eyes at the exact spot where Zenos had died but a few moments before that. And one more thing that Aymeric said also got me wondering... he said that the „Ascian Zenos“ was distracted by a person who entered the battlefield right before his blade could reach the WoL. Aymeric called that person Estinien, but who else could distract an Ascian who‘s about to kill his and his god’s worst enemy this much but the soul of the body he possesses itself?

    Enigmatic figure: Another theory?

Watching threads and posts on the theory it's G'raha Tia, and I think the idea is brilliant...but the question of why doesn't the WoL know his voice bugged me. Out of that I thought of an alternate explanation. Tell me what you think. - The WoL doesn't recognize the voice because it's not G'raha. It's his forebearer that was given the gift of Allagan blood by Princess Celena (sp?). He is on the first shard, in that crystal tower and has been asleep with that tower because he shut it down to deny Xande acess to that shard. He and the tower were awoken due to the imminent destruction of the shard. As to how he's 'calling' folks he doesn't know...he's using G'raha's memories (seeing as how he's currently connected to the other tower). This would also explain why Lyse hasn't been called, G'raha didn't know her, he knew Yda. Lol sorry this is so long. Well what do you think?
