On character script updates, Emmanellain and Honoroit also have new dialogue. They're listed under the main script rather than "talk dialogue" tab. (Also, oddly, Handeloup but not Lucia. And Francel hasn't changed either.)

It seems like it would make sense to wake up there as it is closer to the battlefield than Ishgard and if we had been unconscious long enough to be moved to long term care then why aren't we at the Rising Stones? Did Estinien take us all the way to Ishgard for medical treatment? Wouldn't we have to pass Mor Dhona to get to Ishgard anyways? I guess they stuck us on an airship. How long were we out? something something time bubble.
Actually, rather than Rhalgr's Reach I was thinking of the Coerthan outposts - both Dragonhead and Whitebrim have infirmaries, if I remember correctly, and the Rising Stones uses the same architecture style. So between that and Rhalgr's (and/or the Ishgardian hospital room we ended up in) they should have all the furniture pieces they need to assemble something without any new modeling work.

On why we ended up in Ishgard... just for heartwarming encounters, I think, and possibly to recycle the hospital room set.

(Also, random appearance from Saulette. She's adorable and I assume she's going to get to do something sooner or later.)

I don't think there was a complaint about the fight as it exists, but they couldn't do it exactly as they wanted without affecting the game rating. (Not able to maim Rathalos by cutting off body parts, if I remember correctly.)

I can‘t help but think that Elezenos is Estinien. That we didn‘t see anything of how we got saved by „Estinien“, as Aymeric said, and Elezenos saying “My enemy. My friend. Had I been but a step faster...“ kinda makes me wonder if his identity was the reason they hid the whole scene from us. His face also resembles Estinien‘s quite a lot, the only difference I can see is the eye colour. But as they say, the eyes are the gates to a person‘s soul right? Aymeric also mentioned that Estinien was not a man of many words. Hearing now, that Elezenos still has Zenos‘ voice would explain to me why he did not speak. The fact that Estinien and Zenos both fused with Nidhogg‘s eyes could also hint at a connection. Maybe even that Estinien destroyed the eyes at the exact spot where Zenos had died but a few moments before that. And one more thing that Aymeric said also got me wondering... he said that the „Ascian Zenos“ was distracted by a person who entered the battlefield right before his blade could reach the WoL. Aymeric called that person Estinien, but who else could distract an Ascian who‘s about to kill his and his god’s worst enemy this much but the soul of the body he possesses itself?
Karsten's post already disproved this - although my first thought on reading your theory (before seeing the image showing Aymeric was there) was that while I disagree with the suggestion that Zenos has possessed Estinien, it could be possible that Zenos rescued us and was mistaken for Estinien.

Suppose we get rescued and delivered to the battlefield healers by "a mysterious Elezen warrior who just dropped her off and left without a word", and that description gets relayed to Aymeric, who has a pretty good idea who that someone would be... except how is he to know that we've got two reclusive Elezen who care about our survival?

Disproved scenario aside, I had previously wondered (back in 4.3 when we first learned Zenos was 'alive') if such a thing might come up, because now we'd have two mysterious Elezen trailing us for completely different reasons.

Also, on the question of Zenos physically possessing Estinien, there's not actually much resemblance between them beyond that they're both using Elezen face #2.

For reference: Estinien vs Elezenos mockup based on his character data.

Also, this chart I'd put together of a few different characters using that same basic face when 4.3 had just come out and everyone was freaking out. "Zenos posessed Estinien!" "Zenos possessed Haurchefant!!!" ...but no, they just look similar enough when you don't have them side by side to compare.

(Random observation I just noticed on my own chart though; Estinien is almost identical to Guydelot from the BRD quests. Only the eyes are different. Never would have thought of them as looking alike.)

The image showing Aymeric and Estinien did make me doubt what I first thought, but as it leaves a lot of space for interpretation I didn’t wanna give up on my theory yet. Considering all of you guys‘ points tho, it does seem my theory‘s wrong.

I wonder if they wanted to make us think that they had some sort of connection tho!

Something that has clicked about the patch MSQ as a whole....

It's called "A Requiem for Heroes", and nobody died.

I think that title, as much as anything, is what built up an expectation that it was going to 'end badly' - waiting to see who we'd be mourning, because there was clearly going to be someone dying.

    "Clearly", except they didn't.

In fact we've got the lowest (known-character) body count out of any finale so far.

I wonder if the final product drifted a long way from what was originally planned for this segment of the story, but they didn't think to change the title. Maybe it was going to end with us in a more dire situatuion - but then they thought "wait, we can't leave the player like this for the next three months..."

There's also the cinematic, with one of Yugiri's Yoshimitsus battered and embedded in the ground.
As soon as she started to leap in and Elidibus charged up a Spark, I was expecting a closeup of them falling tip-first into the foreground while her lifeless body landed behind them. I'd love to know if they initially planned for her to die, or if it was always going to be a fakeout like Y'shtola getting cut down in the Revolutions video.

    Good point...

If nothing else they could have done a cop-out and reminded us of all the allies we'd lost up to this point, Ishgard was even the perfect place for that...

Rather than send us to the Rising Stones after we're dumped out in Ishgard, have Edmont remind us to go visit a friend first... Slap in a flash back cutscene of various losses, end with a flash of Mr Enigma to set him up as, perhaps not an antagonist, but someone we're (or at least Fray) not to happy with... Then we walk away with a determined, but angry expression... Not smiling...

A smile better suits a hero... Hows that for a requiem?

Ideally though, I want "A Requiem for Heroes" to be an indication that perhaps there are no heroes in war... So far though this doesn't even feel like a war, and what we do have is incredibly black and white... Characters like Maxima just happily defecting doesn't help matters there, nor does Black Rose... My only hope is that perhaps Solus doesn't intend for Garlemald to use Black Rose at all, and when we finally return we do so to heroes who aren't quite as spotless as when we left them... I'm really not sure I can see this game going for that dark a route though... And still, that's 5.0, not 4.5, but maybe "A Prelude to a Requiem for Heroes" was too much of a mouthful...

Now that I think on it... Mr Enigma really is being handled quite poorly... He first calls and takes Thancred, then days layer we get a trailer with Thancred showing off Gunbreaker, so goodbye any dramatic tension there... Now we finally meet this guy and our options are; "Who are you?" and "No! Send me back! My head is about to be forcibly removed from my body!". This guy is playing fast and loose with peoples souls and we're not the slightest bit mad about that? I really hope becoming the Warrior of Darkness means we get to go Fray levels of abuse on some of these characters...

"Prelude to a Requiem" could just about work...

Also, it sounded like Enigma possibly didn't mean to summon us there and then. He said something about wanting to meet us, but not intending for it to be in that place? I'll have to check the quote later. Something to the effect that he wasn't entirely in control of us being there.

I always thought "Prelude in Violet" seemed an odd title choice, though. Didn't they say later that it was supposed to be a reference to BLU coming soon after that patch? Which seems like a bizarre choice of logic for choosing a title - a single job that isn't tied to MSQ at all, and it messes with their usual colour-symbolism in titles where blue is for Heavensward.

So I did it yesterday on my twink as DRK again because somebody wrote, there would be a different text at some point. But I didn't found any difference. All texts during the quests were exacte the same as with SMN.

    More MSQ thoughts:
Thinking about it a little more, what if the anticlimax this time around is the point? War is terrible (but ultimately necessary; join the Army today!), and we were getting built up to take some serious losses, but then out of nowhere our friend Enigma starts interfering with the course of events, ultimately destabilizing things to the point where we only fight Elidibus to a draw, preventing the worst-case scenario where either of us comes out on top.

The climactic events that should have occurred didn't, both sides are too tired to continue for the moment, and now we're on a road trip to Third Optionville. For whatever reason, the plot has been hijacked.

Unrelated note, I did the instance as Ninja and cleared it first try. It was tight but certainly not impossible for melee.
