[Dev Suggestion] About Male Viera

I honestly think the path of least resistance would be to go with the adult, beefy-Elezen looking male Viera designs from The Concept Art™. It's cohesive with the female design, many people have been exposed to it for years, it's a design they already have and might need to invest less work in. Will it please everyone? No, of course not, but then nothing ever will. Even a contest will show many different approaches, some of which will be shunned and rejected, or abandoned due to implementation difficulties (which is another reason why going with something similar to the females, which they already managed to implement, makes sense).

It's going to suck if updates to the existing playable races are delayed/abandoned as a result of this mess. I'd have preferred not to have any new playable races in favour of more customisation for what we have already.

It's not difficult for people to click the 'like' button during the latest outrage. I think the gender lock is silly, though it's not exactly a good thing for the community to be so outraged over it when there's much more pressing issues that affect far more players. The dire state of PvP and player housing being two prime examples.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the outrage if we can just keep it contained to one topic. There doesn't need to be a dozen topics all about the same thing. Keeping it contained to the single thread makes it easier for SE to review the feedback anyway. But with how the community works, I doubt we're going to see any other issues get any kind of real attention while we have the giant elephant in the room that is the 5.0 genderlocks. :v Sad but true.


Things might get better after they issue a statement on the board like they're considering. Just a simple, "they're coming! Please look forward to it!" would be enough to deescalate the situation. You'll still have people asking "When are they coming?" but it won't be the giant outpour we have right now.
