Viera males should be smaller like Au Ra females

Ok, but let's take a look at what we have currently.

Shorter/Cute female races:
- Lalafell
- Au Ra
- Miqo'te
- Midlander

Tall/buff female races:
- Highlander
- Roegadyn
- Viera
- Elezen

And for the males?

Shorter/cute male races:
- Lalafell
- Miqo'te
- Midlander

Tall/buff male races:
- Highlander
- Roegadyn
- Elezen
- Au Ra
- Hrothgar

For female characters Au Ra somewhat bridge the gap between Lalafell and Miqo'te, but male characters have no equivalent option.

After some discussion in the Viera support thread I think smaller, "cute" Viera males would be good along with large, female Hrothgar to shore up the current gender disparity among character models.

(I also find the idea of small bunny boys being absolutely savage, lithe hunter-assassins to be amazing.)

If you're ok with female au ra, but not a slim/short body type for males because you think it's weird, you're a hypocrite.
I like the concept for male viera here, but I don't like the chest fur. Perhaps a better way for me to describe the body type, instead of calling it Alphinaud's body type, is an androgynous body type instead? It would make sense with the viera lore as well. The way I imagine it, it could be that the males remain in the village up until their society notices they aren't growing any bigger compared to the females.

As long as the male viera are slim, and just a little bit shorter than the female viera, I think that would be cool. The female viera are pretty tall in general, so even if the males are a little shorter, they'd still look cool

I regret mentioning Alphinaud because that's all people are gonna talk about now I admit maybe Alphinaud is not a good example but I couldn't really think of anything to describe short and slim off the top of my head

Well, their behaviour concept is not against them having handsome or even cute (in some way) faces but as for body... I suppose they can be a little bit smaller, than females, but about ~10 cm, not in proportion that Auri have. I would say they could have same level of maturity/beautiful with females. Something between male Miqo'te and male Au Ra. Their "mature" concept art from 2015 was fairly perfect in this term, imo.

I would like to see a race with male characters that fit into that smaller body shape, but not paired with the tall elegant female Viera.

The concept art for the "small cute" male Viera was paired with a similar-looking female, and there is definitely an unfilled niche for a race like that.

But for the Viera design we are getting, that was paired with the bulkier "warrior" male, and that makes more sense to me - both as a visual pair, and for fitting the "lone guardian" lore that has been established for them.

in my opinion, we already have bulky male body types: highlander, au ra, roegadyn, and now hrothgar
we already have tall male body types: highlander, au ra, roegadyn, hrothgar, elezen
we already have broad/fit male body types: midlander/highlander, miqo'te, au ra, roegadyn, hrothgar
and we have one really short male body type: lalafell

what we're missing is a short, but not lalafell short, male, who is also slim
I think male viera would fit very well into this. when I think of male viera, I think of a smaller build, slim, and agile. something that can stay hidden easily

on a side note, did you know male rabbits tend to be smaller than their female counterparts of the same species

Considering rabbit males are smaller than female rabbits in nature. It would make sense.
