Anything you did to them during that time wouldn't count, including trying to build stacks or maintain BLM element. This change makes it so that you can still debuff them, build stacks, etc, even though they're not taking any damage.

Invulnerable means nothing happens at all when you hit them. Invincible means you can still hit them, but they take 0 damage.
Good shout. Recognized the difference and the cause for change immediately. It's super frustrating if, in all the flashy effects, you fail to realize invulnerability, and suddenly your stacks end despite maintaining rotation.

Interested to see the results of the rest of the changes, tho. Dunno about the rest of the primals, but I know lately I've been seeing some well geared groups clearing Ifrit Extreme with no regard to nails, being able to push damage and kill him before it triggers the wipe. While I can sorta understand wanting to mitigate that behavior, if that's what they've enacted, will also be a bit disappointing that power creep won't be making things easier into the future.
