I think reasonable critiques of products is fine, maybe a different color, or how to improve features, maybe things I would like to see in the future.
But when I imagine features for a product that isn't even out yet and then take out my anger for the product not meeting my imagined expectations on the product designers with threats and insults, well, I'm clearly in the wrong in that scenario.
It's just going to amount to poor content. The Devs have stayed on message about new races, they can't just flip a switch and have new races. They have to devote resources to converting gear that fit and look good on the new races. Not to mention all the other junk that would need to done.It might be annoying to you, but making noise like this is really the only way to get the dev teams attention. The fact that big media outlets are starting to write about it is a good sign. Means the message is getting through. I don't like Kotaku either but any signal boost is a good one. Square Enix is going to end up being forced to comment on it or risk more bad publicity before the expansion's release.
I just wanna know why fem au ra hate male viera so much. You see so many of them complaining about this. :v
It's already clear these two races have been shoe horned into this expansion since they already admitted that there will be no wearable head gear available to them.
Screaming and threatening isn't going to make your wishes instantly granted. It'll come at a cost.

Eh, I agree people saying or taking the lack of viera as a personal attack or a homophobic or sexist statement is ridiculous and unwarranted, but a lot of these "STOP COMPLAINING THREADS" seem to imply that any sort of criticism is bad criticism, I've seen a lot of similar replies when people complained about BLU, Eureka, DIADEM or the plethora of other bad QoL problems with this game. I'm just not a fan of the "Shut up and stop whining" argument that a lot of these threads have.I think reasonable critiques of products is fine, maybe a different color, or how to improve features, maybe things I would like to see in the future.

Again I agree people who state that this is a homophobic strike against them are completely wrong, but people saying we shouldn't expect anything from Square enix but what they give us are....backwards to say the least. We should be demanding this product get more support than it's already gotten, we should be demanding that they get more staff, more time, and more money to do what we the fanbase would find enjoyable as well as what the devs choose to give to us. This to me isn't about genderlocks but just about VOICING a dissenting opinion on the state of the game that often times gets met with a "Shut up" response from a lot of people.
I'm more so just not in line with that these forums need to be positive feedback non-stop 100% of the time.
I don't think anyone expects them to drop everything and focus all efforts on removing the genderlocks as soon as possible. That's just crazy. I think what most people want is just some confirmation that the genderlocks are temporary and that the counterparts will be added at some point in time. Whether it is in the 5.0 patch cycle or 6.0 or whatever. Leaving it up in the air is just going to breed more and more tension.

Overall it's that time when everybody is mostly in pre-expansion -mode. Pretty much everything done that current expansion has to offer, so people have energy and time to focus onto upcoming content, be it in positive or negative light.
Move couple months forward when we're this close to expansion release, and there will be plenty of hype; people taking days off work and all that.
Your not the only one and it's just sad; as the game becomes popular and more play, the trolls and toxicity comes along with it too. People seem to think if they raise their voice and shout loud enough, the dev team will hear them but sadly this isn't the case. The Japanese culture finds those that are loud and stand out annoying and tend to ignore them. In western schools, if you know the answer to a question or have questions and raise your hand, that's a good thing and encouraged. In Japanese schools, that same behavior is considered annoying; if they raise to answer every question, they are considered to be taking away opportunity from other students . If they raise their hand to ask questions, they are considered loud and slowing down the class.
I found it very surprising when teachers would ignore a student that has their hand up, if no one else raised their hand, the teacher would just answer. When I asked afterwards why they didn't pick the student, since no one else wanted to answer. They said that they didn't want to encourage that behavior.
If people have noticed, compared to old live letters where they would answer questions from both Japanese and Western fans, recently they don't do that. The way our community goes about it is not just toxic to our community but is seen as being loud and annoying and slowing down the other communities; hence we simply get ignored.
That's not to say we shouldn't give our feedback, I'm saying we have to do it in a constructive way so our points get across, We are not the only community upset about genderlocking but if you look at the other forums, people are asking questions as to why they made that decision or about future possibilities; not claiming the team of being sexist and stereotyping,

The worst part is that non of those threatening to quit will for long. So they will still be here in a year making stupid threads about the things they think they are entitled to.
People can give feedback, if they mind their manners and do it constructively. People shouting into the void, or people looking to rile others up I tend to ignore. It's not worth focusing your attention on people that shout and yell, because it comes at the detriment of those that are actually giving well-written feedback. Whether one supports said feedback or not is a matter of opinion, but any feedback is valid and has different weights to different people.
"In my previous life, i used to be a male wolf; but that was taken away from me in this life, now they are saying i can't be a male Viera??!"Its tiring. Its just people saying the same things over and over. Its even more annoying when people talk about their real life situation. As if that has anything to do with the game. Its a cheap tactic to make you feel bad because they "struggled" in real life with completely unrelated issues.
Overall i can't wait for this to be over in a week or two.. Hopefully.
I'm just imagining the weirdest excuses i can think of. xD But yes, thankfully this will all die down soon.![]()

It does get tiresome. Fore no matter what SE does even if it's actually a good thing someone will find something to get upset about and then most likely some one else will make another thread about the exact same thing even if the other thread is still on the first page and only hours old. Course the NA forums are an odd fish in that we complain about people necroing a thread and also when someone doesn't use the search function and makes a new thread about a topic that's been beaten to death. Then there's the new thread that pops up because they feel their words and points will just be drowned in the sea of a 20+ page thread.
