Over on reddit they had that actual thread. . .It does get tiring. I don't mind the criticism but some people were quite disgusting to voice theirs. Like Wynn mentioned above, using their IRL issues, playing the victim card, just to get away with what they wanted. We were only missing the thread "My hospitalized little brother's last wish was to see male viera, but SE ruined that for him". But no side was a saint here. I wished people would have made a single thread to consolidate this matter, but if someone had an extra word to add, apparently that was reason enough to create a new thread. Some people use the discussion forums like social media.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Just give it time, it'll mellow out and maybe a few will go through an unsubscribe. I'll wager most won't and the few that do will be outnumbered by the people coming over from WoW.

It's extremely exhausting. And these same people are going to every platform, including Japanese platforms, and working hard on trying to get everyone as riled up as possible. And it's the -same- handful of people that are making it seem louder than the issue really is. Even if you look at the main "make them playable" thread, at least 65% of the posts are like, "Eehh well I wouldn't play them but I support those who do." It's not even people who WANT to play male viera which brings the population of those who do down to an even SMALLER amount. It's just a like of righteous kicking and stamping.
I was willing to just let the complaints fly.... until I tried to blog about the new races in relation to another subject THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH GENDERLOCKING and the responses and people immediately brought up the crap in the responses.
At that point I just threw my hands up and stayed off the internet for several hours.
Kotaku just posted a vapid article today informing it's victim mentality reader base that they've been wronged and need to be upset at the FFXIV devs. Expect more senseless accusations of homophobia and sexism + kitchen sink posts.
The 2nd wind is here.

Glory to Mankind

Keep in mind that the actual people complaining and unsubbing or claiming that they are unsubbing is incredibly small. Like less than 0.1% of the playerbase small.
Keep in mind that the majority of people who are screaming loudly that they will unsub actually never unsub. The only ones that will unsub are the ones that never say anything about it.

I'm tired about people complaining about people complaining. Threads upon threads upon threads.
Now queue the person who is tired about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining lol...

Stop criticizing or having opinion, consume product and then be excited for next product for consumption.
