I personally feel like MCH has far too much going on to keep track of the RNG aspect. It's part engineer, it deals with mechanics, it should be predictable.I feel like that would make the job even more repetitive. A common complaint is how the rotation is really static at level 70, and removing the need to react to procs would make it even more so. It would also remove WF optimisation based on your current set of procs, and MCH is lacking in ways to optimise as it is. Additionally, with Reload at a 30s CD and QR at a 15s CD, very rarely do you get extended periods of time of only Split Shot, especially if you are 1213ing like you're supposed to with MCH.
RDM and BLM have a sort of RNG that works for them, I don't feel like MCH's RNG does.
I feel like MCH should have been the NIN of the ranged DPS jobs. Like they would combine different parts to create fancy weaponry attacks (looking at Edgar from FFVI). So theoretical examples; bio+tech+aether parts (made-up MCH Mundra) create a Bio Blaster or tech x3 creates Heavy Crossbow etc, I'm sure there are lots of possibilities. I'd prefer to tinker with parts than mess about with overheating and ping effected wildfire.

When can we actually expect more information on this? In May? I am really curious to see what's going to change and how jobs are further developed but information and details about it seem so far away...
I hope for some skill replacement enhancements like warrior has where one skill replaces another dependant on stance.
Examples...
Dreadwyrm trance becomes deathflare.
Leylines becomes between the lines.
Enochian becomes blizzard 4/fire 4 dependant on buff.
Impact replaces jolt 2.
Etc...
Things that cannot exist in a state where there is a choice, saving hotbar space.
I expect them to combine certain skills. Remove fluff, and convert combos to PVP Action buttons cuz lets face it, its gonna likely happen. People love it too much, they know it, I know it, the cat above me knows it, my cousin across the pond knows it, even my dog knows it, heck he just woofed at me in approval.
Yep.
the most enjoyable thing about mch imo is deciding how and when to use the bullets. having a garanteed combo at all times is boring.I would love this. I play on Pc but it would still be a much welcomed change. It would free up so much room.
As for other changes i would like, i would love for them to get rid of RNG for MCH/BRD. But especially MCH. It doesn't feel good using your Split Shot/Heated Split Shot over and over because you can't get a proc.
They should just get rid of the RNG factor, and make the bullets do something else to effect the abilities.
I think it would make MCH 10x more enjoyable.
I'm a little worried since a recent interview mentioned making WHM even easier than it is already. I was always under the impression that it is already one of the more simple jobs in the game. I suppose I'll wait and see how it goes. The trend for most MMO's is to make them steadily more streamlined as more and more players join the game and find themselves overwhelmed by everything there is to do.
DRK changes: Increased potency of Hard Slash by 10.
Look forward to it.
What? no addition of last resort as a second provoke which cuts def by 50% to boost atk by 25% and DPS stance consuming 8% of current HP to deal that amount of additional damage on weapon skills and auto attacks? ;P
For starters, with each expansion, they've had a different "Motif" or "Theme" for how they want all Jobs to operate in general, so first off, I expect them to have a new one. For HW, it was buff maintenance (Greased Lightning, BoTD, Enochian, Huton, Dreadwyrm). For SB, it was giving each Job their own meter/resource.
For SHB, my theory has been that they'll give everyone something that expands their resources further. For DRG, being able to get a fourth eye during LoTD, to go PAST LoTD. For BLM, gaining more Polyglot stacks to cast something PAST Foul. For MNK, GL4. Etc etc.
I expect something like an "Ultimate" ability that takes our resources from 100 to 0 for an incredible burst of damage, or an incredible buff.
More traits.
For Dancer to be their solution to the DRG monopoly on "Synergy with ranged physical DPS", through nature of Dancer being Slashing damage and relying on SAM/NIN.
Dancer will be the NIN of physical ranged DPS, MCH will turn into the selfish (SAM) physical ranged.
Dancer will be more mandatory than any Job in the game ever has been.
