i hope hard means Garuda difficulty and better drop rates and a harder mode 5 times or 10 times more difficult in the most important enemies but with at least one bad ass item drop

This thread is sadly still poignant. Unfortunately for us Yoshi-P doesn't look too fondly on reinventions of the wheel. In the mind of the first people to make Everquest tedium was the method of getting people to stay logged in and it doesn't look like that is likely to change anytime soon, even with something as promising as FF14.
