Yoshi-P considering feedback on the new races

    https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sq.../1100-6465810/

I asked Yoshida if Square Enix would considering allowing more gender options for Hrothgar and Viera in the future, but it appears the studio wants to consider feedback first before making any announcements. Yoshida also said to GameSpot that, due in part to the high complexity and challenge of creating new races and balancing them, Hrothgar might be the final new race added to Final Fantasy XIV Online.
The missing genders might not be off the table just yet.

It does not mean it will be on the table either. I mean over the years people have been requesting do-able stuff like unlock Hempen camise set styles and some others i could not think of as of this moment. Every time yoshi-p listen to this kind of feedback he give excuses on why it can't be implemented. So, i wouldn't have high hopes on this.

There aren't nearly as many people asking for different panty options as there are people asking for the genderlock to be removed though. :v Strength in numbers and all that.

Or extremely loud vocal minority which in this case pretty sure that's what it is. I don't know anyone outside of this forum that is upset at all.

Vocal minorities have gotten stuff done before in this game. They got the 1.0 genderlocks removed, same sex marriage, the male bunny suit, and extra shirogane wards added. Maybe these people desperate for extra panty variations should be louder about it I guess? Or maybe they're just an even smaller minority than the group who want the genderlocks removed. lol

Then I don't know where you usually are strolling around. Reddid and Twitter at least are pretty upset about this, too.

But to be fair, Reddit and Twitter are upset about pretty much anything. This forum sometimes doesn't seem that different.

Myself, i cant be bothered either way tbh. I like the races as they are shown, and I also like the idea of male viera and female "ronso". What I do find interesting is the behavior of a lot of people on these media. Some think it's their right to get something that they want and SE will just have to do their bidding. Some think it's their right to deny those people that wish and some even act like its the end of the world as we know it. What those people do have in common is that all of them are a bunch of selfish hypocrites that only think of themselves and disregard any arguments of the people with a different opinion simply because it might disrupt their wishes.

Mind you, not everyone here behaves that way thank god. And most people i spoke in game seem to not be bothered at all with the rage war that seems to have filled this forum and social media. They just cant wait to try out dancer/gunbreaker and continue the main story maybe as a viera or a Hrothgar or just continue on the same race character as they experienced all adventures of their warrior of light.

Edit: For clarification, Only the first line of my post is directed to your quote. The rest is pretty much my take on all this and not at all directed at you directly.

Theres 14 Million subs in FF XIV right now... and maybe 500 or so people on the forums asking for a genderlock removal Could be miscounting but most of the posts seem to be well mostly the same people. I am not understanding where you're getting the idea thats a strong call to take development and pool towards.

I can't speak for the entire community, but there seems to be a large part of that is dissatisfied with the genderlocks. Especially on here and on reddit. Even the Japanese players aren't happy with it. Not every person who is unhappy about this even uses the forums for that matter, and others don't want to rock the boat over it. I wouldn't discount that.

Yeah you're miscounting. 700+ likes on the english viera thread alone. People are talking on Twitter, tumblr, reddit, discord, and other social media. Just because people are being vocal doesn't automatically make them the minority opinion. And if the neutral or contrary opinion can hide their numbers behind the idea that some of them are just not speaking up, then one can assume some of those who find gender locks distasteful may find less noisey ways to express their feelings.

My observations are, with this much energy from this many people (quite a few of whom started posting on the forums just to voice their displeasure) in just three days, I would say it's quite a strong reaction.

Edit: and yeah its 14 million accounts. That includes free trials that may or may not have been abandoned.
