Can we please get clarification on why the offical Viera Dancer artwork has the traditional Viera stilettos?

Yet in the actual Dancer reveal video also with a Viera she has these hideous boat shaped clown FLAT shoes on?

Viera need to have high heels for the majority of their foot armor. Please don't tell me after genderlocking races they're also going to ruin their traditional feet.

From the first reveal of a Viera npc in the game [Fran]:

I noticed that instead of beast feet that have the center of balance focused on the ball of the foot and three toes, her feet appeared to be human styled feet that center balance on the entire foot but they were wearing standard stiletto heels that had the molded 3 toe foot of the traditional Viera shoes. The Dancer in the drawing that OP linked above, also appears to have humanoid feet in stiletto heels.

At the time, the only way to be certain of this, would be to remove her shoes and see if she indeed has only three toes and balance is focused on the ball of the foot [kind of like removing a Barbie doll's shoes and finding that the doll's foot is permanently in a position to stand on the ball of the foot, in heels. ]

Now that we have a model of the Viera wearing flat shoes in the trailer, it further clarifies that indeed they passed on the beast feet that require a heel type shoe and went with standard human style feet. It is easy to mistake FFXIV Fran's feet for the beast style feet that center balance on the ball of the foot, because she has on what appear to be her original shoe design of a stiletto heel which puts a flat, human foot, in that position.

Will Viera have three toes and flat feet when they switch to the naked [shoes unequipped] sandals that our characters have now? Hard to know.. but the contradiction in the two foot styles can be explained by the mere fact that stiletto heels force a foot to appear the way natural feet appear on Viera.

One other thing: I do not know if there are any official artworks showing Viera feet without shoes on, so I am honestly, uncertain if original Viera could wear flat type shoes or not and was just assumed to be the other way because of her always wearing stiletto footwear.

The images on Fansites, show what appears to be Viera in sandals or barefoot but I'm unable to tell which is fanart vs official art. Perhaps some more lore savvy replies here will clarify <3

That's not Fran's FFXIV model, that's a photo of a (presumably FFXII) figurine - you can see the ball joints on the ankles.

Just saying they already ruined Viera by genderlocking them in the first place now they're also going to ruin one of their two main defining features. Then to top it all off they give us a false sense of hope even in their official artwork. It's all very bait and switch.


If all the other shoes look the same on them as every other race in game right now we're literally going to be stuck only using their racial shoes for literally every glamour.
