Returning player(again) and new to craftiing help

Hello everyone. I'm back again. My question is about crafting to make some good gil. Concerning master recipes, can I only grab master recipe books 3 and 4 on up and make good gil without having to grab books 1-2? Of course being the appropriate level for lv 60 books. I'm asking because I'm not sure how profitable it will be to waste/spend time making lv 50 gear if no one isn't really buying it. If people are still buying lv 50 gear then never mind but just was wondering. Sorry in advance for bad abbreviations for crafting terms. Thanks

There are a few answers to your question:

    1) You can grab any master book and craft the recipes within it without the need of having previous masterbooks - you might require materials crafted by others craftser from the same masterbook "number" though (aka a weaver recipe from masterbook 4 might need something out of the goldsmith masterbook 4). Skipping books is possible, generally speaking.

    2) Your question was specifically aimed at "making good gil" - and for that I dare say: You can skip all the masterbooks with the exception of the latest edition aka masterbook 6. I am not familiar with the economy on your server, but I highly doubt that level 50 or 60 gear sells very well since its only purpose is glamour. Its much easier and cheaper to just get some 50/60 gear with poetics, of which most people have more off than they can spend. Or just get the HW/SB-starting gear, which is also available at 50/60.

    3) That brings me to my last point: How do you make "good money" then?
The first question here is: What is "good money" to you? How much do you want to earn - both per piece and in general?
Even without knowing the answer, I need to give this disclaimer right away: We're at the end of the expansion, selling - even endgame stuff - has become slow. A lot of people finished everything they wanted to finish and are taking breaks now - or they dont require any more crafted goods, because, well, they've geared all the classes they wanted to gear already. So you shouldnt expect to get millions for one crafted piece - I used to be able to sell the current ilvl380-rings for 2-4 million when they were the new stuff, now they're down to 200k-600k. You wont make fortunes right now, sorry!

There are a few things you can look into if you're okay with not making millions from single pieces:
    - check all the leveling gear on the marketboard - dont go for the 50/60/70 stuff, but for the pieces people use during leveling, specially around level 56/66, when the endgame-gear of the previous expansion isnt great anymore.
    - craft leve-turn-ins - check out what items are needed for leves and craft those
    - potions and food are getting used up, so the chances are higher that those sell at all
    - do your crafting beast tribe dailies and turn their special currency into money by
    - furniture is often easy to make, but requires uncommon materials (that can be gathered easly though, they're just not used for anything but the furniture) - you can make quite a bit of money from level 30 recipes if you know where to look...

...okay and I actually just checked your lodestone - with all your crafters being just at entry level my best advice is: Just focus on leveling and learning how to craft for the moment. Dont think about how to make money or mastercrafterbooks. I'm sorry to tell you, but with your crafters at level 15, even with your gsm at 45, you're still kinda far away from most income sources.
My best advice for the moment would be to level your crafters up to 70, get familiar with the general mechanics of crafting and start becoming a money making master crafter in 5.0. Right now there isnt much gil to be made and you're not into a position to participate in most markets. You should also level your botanist and fisher if you want to spend less money on materials later down the line.

Your best bets in terms of income right now are gathering your daily map (as miner) or farming battle content like EX-primals, HoH, PotD or Eureka to hope for well selling random drops. You can also look into aetherial reduction (miner again) to gather up some Duskglow Aethersand.
A level 15 crafter cant make good money, sorry.

Thank you Vidu for your helpful advice. I'm still working on getting my crafters up. 5.0? Yeah, sounds right. Endgame gear does lose its value when everyone already has it. I'll just keep working on leveling. I truly appreciate the advice and will keep working on understanding the craafting system. The in-between gear has been selling...really just enough for pocket change but I get the point.
