I don't think Yoshi's style is to make everyone angry.

The people who are angry are part of this generation of instant gratification, the ones who scream for stuff as long as other people are doing it. I don't envy the Square team and all the hard work they do for us, all I can do is be patient ^+^ Yoshi knows what he is doing with his game believe it or not.

Just throwing this out there, Yoshi has always favoured comedy when it comes to his game and reveals; hiding behind second meaning choice of words. He said this will be the last race added, he never said there would always be genderlock. Having a female ranso or male bunny isn't off the table but give them room guys! They are working on a whole expansion, two new jobs, 3 including Blue Mage, working in two races despite the gender locking which means reworking all the armour somewhat and who knows what else they have up their sleeve to make the game fun alongside reworking the battle system yet again!

It actually kind of reminds me of when SAM was revealed as DPS. A lot of people were convinced the heavy kimono and one handed sword meant it'd be the first ever dodge counter tank.

This is what most peoples lives revolve around nowadays it seems. Games are supposed to be an escape from the horrors of reality but some literally carry their baggage with them no matter where they go.

I'm not going to soapbox this but hear me out. Tell me something if you asked for toy as a kid (just think of something) and your parents brought you another saying it cost the same what would your reaction be? Naturally you'd be miffed. To phrase it better, let's say you have your spouse or loved one go out shopping and only request one specific item by name. You know what it is and what it costs. If it isn't there don't bother. They get you something else other than what you asked for expecting you to be happy. See what I am getting at here? That's the problem. Practically no one asked for Ronso. Maybe, and I am being generous here, 20% of the community may have mentioned something about it off and on. Viera? People have been rampant for female and MALE both since hour ONE. The frustration isn't unwarranted. It's totally validated. They feel betrayed. Don't get me wrong here I'm not up in arms over this but I am slightly miffed. I wanted to play as a male Viera. We have cats already. Ronso were unneeded. Good, bad, or indifferent they screwed up.

I think people don't come to a forum centering around a specific video game to tell everyone that although they want something to happen regarding that video game, it isn't actually that big of a deal in the grand scheme of their entire lives. You might find the people who are the most upset feel that their lives are crashing, but these are outliers, and to remove all the outliers will mean that everyone who's "upset" isn't actually representative of the kinds of labels people are giving out. In reality there's people who feel a certain way about a certain thing, and it doesn't rule their entire lives, but that doesn't mean they don't mention it at all. They have the proper conduit to communicate about it, and they use it.


These people recognize that this forum is a great place for their voices to be heard by those who have the most authority to do anything about it. In many ways these people will vent their frustrations towards those with that authority. Ridiculing these people not only makes those feelings worse, but it redirects that energy away from where it can do any good right to other forum users where it can't do any good. It is because of this that we have so many topics, because people refuse to accept one another's feelings.


I think you'll find that among these people who have determined it's worth voicing their opinion over their dissatisfaction, there are an extremely small number of people, perhaps non-existent, that feel any need to down play the opposing sides feelings on the matter. When told "Male Viera doesn't matter to me", you aren't finding them saying "your opinion shouldn't be considered". You find them in disagreement to be sure, but not to be hostile or dismissive of it.


Eventually then when enough virtual slaps in the face have been given, enough people show some amount of retaliation and then it's "the behavior of complainers is disgusting".


To say I'm disappointed would be a lie. It's human behavior. Everyone is trapped in their own egos, and I can't help but laugh. Certainly I'm on the side of pro male viera, and I like to make legitimate cases for it, but watching you all is so humorous I don't know what to do with myself. Day in and day out you'll see this behavior everywhere over just about everything, but will any of you actually be able to recognize it? I doubt it. I too obviously have my own ego, but I perhaps just see others egos a little more clearly than most, I guess.


How many of you will make a legitimate well thought out attempt at persuasion, and then move along as if you feel you've made your case properly? I can't imagine any of you will. But, well, hopefully now you might have a better chance at it.
