Dancer Gear

Well, they mentioned that DNC will use DEX and there's "Compatible" gear already (Aiming)

But at the same time, they sort of hinted at changes to NIN gear due to it being DEX and using its own unique gear...

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they ended up just mirroring right side gear. Fending/Slaying/Aiming/Casting/Healing.

Meaning that:

WAR/PLD/DRK/GNB use Fending.

MNK/SAM/DRG use Slaying.

NIN/DNC/BRD/MCH use Aiming.

BLM/SMN/RDM(/BLU lol) use Casting.

WHM/SCH/AST use Healing.

Unless they decide to do something crazy with stats in the rework to combat systems.

Though, it highlights the thing where unless they decide to have another "Weird" job, having NIN using DEX gear is likely going to bite them in the ass eventually. Since they won't be able to just swap them to using Slaying gear because it means changing all their class and job gear to STR from DEX.

Also, I'm sure the majority of Tanks out there would love to get their hands on Maiming/Slaying gear for that sweet, sweet STR xD

main stat is kind of meaningless at this point. It's just a reflection of item level
They should try to trim down the sets a bit
especially the ones that are single class only

personally i think a dancer would look more appropriate in ninja stuff than bard stuff as well

Im 99% sure it's Aiming.
Drg always had maiming for itself, it mostly use chain/plate gear, so it will never share gear with mnk/nin/sam, or any other non-knight-like dps.

I have a feeling it will share gear with ninja since it's the only job unless I'm mistaken that doesn't share gear with another job.

Ninja doesn't share left side gear with any other job. It does however share accessories with Brd/Mch. Ninja is also melee while Dancer is ranged which I think is why most think it will share gear with Brd/Mch. Myself included.

Dancer is apparently only "sort of" ranged, as many of its attacks are point blank AoEs that require it to be in melee range to hit.

I'd put my money on Dancer going on Scouting, but that's just wishful thinking. I could try and justify why that should be the case (because it is 100% the only logical choice), but at the end of the day I have no influence on where the dart the developers throw at the wall lands to determine what they do. Aiming? Scouting? Sorry folks, not even a new set. Dancer is going to Maiming; Remember, Dragoons where the original pole-dancers. RIP Ring of Thorns.

Seriously though, Scouting makes the most sense. Aiming and Scouting both have sets that... Really don't fit Dancer... Though that can be said for any Job, heck Maiming has sets that don't fit Dragoon and Scouting sets that don't fit Ninja, and those are the only Jobs those sets exist for currently... Overall though, I'd say Scouting has more sets that fit Dancer than Aiming, and it'd be nice to add a second Job to Scouting (likewise for Maiming next expansion; Heavy armor Melee + Healer for 6.0?).
