    [dev1302] Movement Sensitivity Spell Cancelling

While this does seem to be a viable solution to "spell-lock", there's one thing that's been bugging me and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been thinking about this.

The concern I have is how much we have to move our characters to be considered "Cancelled". Because any FFXI player can tell you that the slightest touch, no matter how much of a move it was... Would cancel your spell.

It was a HUGE hinderance for certain spells, like Raise... Or AM, which you think you're casting, only to find out it's been cancelled 10 seconds later.

Do any of you Devs know how sensitive the cancel is? I'm sure it would help everyone if it wasnt a remake of the FFXI super-sensitive system.

My assumption on the sensitivity of it is that if you move -at all- you will get cancelled.

I wish the spell would stop instantly when you move. Here's hoping it changes to that in 2.0. Finishing the duration of the cast when the game already knows it's going to be cancelled is just stupid.

It would be really nice if it took a few steps to cancel.
It was annoying in FFXI when I'd be in situations where timing required me to cast a spell as my character was coming to a halt, but the one or two steps my character took after I pushed the hot key prevented me from successfully casting.
It's seems pretty nonsensical to have it disrupt from taking one or two steps and it makes for an especially annoying inconvenience to take into consideration in the midst of a high-stress battle.

Also, wouldn't it be just as easy to have the cancel for a spell be the same button as the cancel for menu options? Like, to cancel a spell, you could push the "esc" key on the keyboard, or whatever button you have that function assigned to on the gamepad. That makes a lot more sense to me.

I think there is nothing to worry about.

Also, the "Face target" button will work as your effective brake, you let go of the movement button, hit the brake and cast the spell, it shouldn't be far too many steps if you're already getting spanked by movement lag cancelling your spells.

Are they implementing a face target button for game pads?
