I think it's important that there is a space for people in the community to voice their dissatisfaction. Nothing can or will happen in an instant, but the more people speak out and echo their concerns, the more the dev team realizes that it is a serious and legitimate one. I would love to have male Viera tomorrow, but that's not going to happen. However, the goal of voicing our dissatisfaction should be to have Yoshida acknowledge that many in the community are upset, and that they will either address the issue or provide a proper explanation why what we want isn't possible or practical.

Yea, at the very least an acknowledgement that they know people are upset and that they'll work to rectify it in the future would be good. I doubt they want this atmosphere carrying over into the ShB launch. I mean, we've already got news outlets talking about how fans are upset with the genderlock. Isn't exactly good publicity for them.

We do? I think i saw one or two japanese sites saying something about it but i haven't seen any of the typical english ones..

I know people are upset, but no healer and gender-locked races are not going to change for release no matter how much you complain on the forums. These decisions are made and locked in, the development cycle is past the point where these things would be implemented and on top of all that, Square isn't going to cave to forum pressure, it's just not in their nature. Yoshida has made his choices, I know not everyone agrees with them, but as the game director they are his choices to make. Maybe we get a mid expansion healer like we got NIN, maybe in 6.0 they unlock the races, but regardless nothing is being done on the forums with this firestom other than just shouting over each other.

You will have to wait to get the things you want. Patience is a virtue. As Yoshida likes to say: "please look forward to it."

One of the Naoki's room guests asked about a healer in 5.0 and was sad about there not being one, Yoshida's response after some back and forth about it was "Please enjoy the new jobs without being bound by your role." That's probably going to be the closest thing you're going to get to an acknowledgement.

The people who were around for the Shirogane launch can easily contest that claim. The storm of discontent that erupted from the community resulted in more wards being added and new restrictions on the purchasing of houses to prevent house flipping.

since reborn came out ive been patient waiting for summoner to become a real summoner.. did it no it didnt.

patience only rewards pain and sorrow and disappointment.. also
the max lvl will be 99 shadows is going 2 80 that means only 2 more expansions so the nxt jobs will be lvl 70 start and have only 29 lvls of fun .... newer jobs become less and less fun due 2 lvl start.

not even counting I'm still waiting for a morbol mount and the ability to be 5 inch shorter on all races

Nah mate, I'd take those articles with a heavy pinch of salt.

They are all noticeably short, are not in-depth, do not actively disclose their sources and are mainly contributors with an agenda. Reminds me of the bad writers at IGN, N4g.com, and Game Informer, all three of which publish biased crap and are just extremely below par to begin with.

For starters, Famitsu, Nicoinico, Kotaku, Dualshockers and Polygon are just a very few off the top of my head that are much more accurate with their disclosure of establishing the pulse of MMO players. Also remember that there are Chinesegaming websites as well that give their own reviews.

Nothing is going to change. But at the same time they wont pull a stunt like this in the next MMO or the next expansion thats for sure.
