So i just thought about the whole „visiting the first shard“ parallel universe thingy and suddenly the following idea came to mind:

Since WE are changing worlds, not the scions since they have to do their things in „the source“, we‘ll meet the parallel universe scions.

That would explain yshtola being adressed as motoya for one and thancred being a gunblader

Since „the first“ evolved differently from „the source“ and dying in „the source“ doesnt actually have to mean your „the first“ counterpart died too, it could be possible to meet old friends again.

I am not sure. The Scion's seem to be caught up in this as they did hear the 'call' that the figure in that First's crystal tower made. There is a very good chance what we see their is some form of our versions.

The other point is that the worlds aren't simply parallel universes in a simple sense. They started roughly the same when the division happened at the start but since then they have developed completely independently. It would require some direct intervention for the exact same people, sporting Archon tattoos no less, would end up together on the First.
