I am also a healer and cant wait to see the new skills and adjustments to my favorite jobs.

I don't know how you can look forward to that after what they did in Stormblood.

Yoshi said they're making WHM easier, so probably just cutting out a bunch of skills again. And I believe they said they don't want to add many skills, but traits instead. So look forward to Secret of the Lily III: a 20% chance for a critical cure to fill the lily gauge!

I would have loved to see a new healer role but you can be sure even though I'm disappointed they haven't give us one YET, you can be sure I will not unsubcribe or quit this game because of it. I enjoy it immensely and realize that one can't quite get everything they want. There is so much to be happy for with all that is coming I can't wait for early release.

What confuses me about this is that it's not like tanks are all balanced right now either. DRK was promised a rework in ShB, last I remember, but they're still adding GUN as a tank. So to see them use that justification for healers truly makes me quirk a brow.

they probably didnt have a clear idea the last few years and they cant just switch everything up in the middle of an expansion.

would of been nice to have another healer, sure, but given how bland the other 3 healers are I would rather see them reworked in a way that makes them feel unique to play as instead of...
White Mage with big heals. thats it. some rocks and wind with a light ball too I suppose.
Scholar with ok healing/shields and a fairy that doesnt get any skills and forever "lvl.40" while only dps aoe is bain and that only spreads the dots to nearby targets and uses a stack
and Astro which is just a mix of both with some cards thrown in.

they won't read it on the lodestone blog, but you could have posted this in one of the other... what 4 or 5? Shadowbringers healer threads instead of making yet another special snowflake thread and clogging the forums even more

I'm a tank. I fully expected a tank and healer this expansion, however when I saw gunbreaker announced I started wondering. Are they gonna add a healer or ranged dps? There are only 2 rdps after all. So deciding on dancer being rdps makes full sense to me.
I agree and would've prefered that resources were spend on preparing to release a full healer mid-expansion instead of doing limited jobs like blue mage. Like they did ninja. Then again, game development is a constant battle of priorities and risks.

You can't always do everything to please everyone at the same time. So I definitely understand that they are struggling to get things right. I hope you don't quit the game over something like this but I understand healers wanting more options, same way as I'm happy to get another tank. It's nice to read a post like this that can bring up concerns and disagreements without being a wall of text of rage.

There are 6 ranged dps jobs currently, 5 if you discount BLU.

I have no idea why people can't comprehend this.

I'd say BLM, SMN and RDM fall into mage/magic casters. BRD and MCH are your two ranged DPS. BLU most definitely should not count in this as you can't even take it out to most things.
