Vocal minority also isn't a very strong argument. If we had both genders for every race, we'd have 16 different combinations. ASSUMING each combination is played equally, that means male Viera or female Hrothgar could each only account for 6.25% of the overall population. Which is a VERY small number, and thats just assuming all combos are played equal.

You CANNOT use "just a vocal minority" as an argument over something that already has so many options. It's like saying "they shouldn't add a new caster because the only people who play it are a vocal minority" or "they shouldn't add a new type of content because it will only be played by a vocal minority".

And yet BLU exists and a very small percentage of people have cleared Ultimates.

It's embarrassing that a community manger felt the need even bring up examples of how supportive SE has been to the gay community because of this childish af tantrum people were throwing.

But yeah, I pointed that out because in order to say someone has "confirmation bias" you must assume someone's looking for examples to support a bias.
It's easy to try to forget something as unbecoming as that but clearly it was something that was a hot topic on these forums just days ago and was noteworthy enough to be tweeted about from someone who works for the company.

I am curious. How are things on the other language forums? I am especially curious as to how the JP crowd are taking all this.

There is no way for you or for me to know what is the majority thoughts on the issue, we cannot have this data, the only ones who can are SE and that is if they make a mandatory survey to play the game at most any numbers used can be used as a sample size to get estimates on what the majority wants nothing we do can be exact numbers.

So everyone (just general) stop using majority and minority on this issue as you cannot have the data to know it

The active playerbase is not even 1million. Where are these millions ?
The active playerbase is only 583 966. (This consists of people who are beyond 4.1. This also includes any and all alts a person may have.) The number of millions you are referring to is referred to how many characters have ever been created not how many people are playing the game.

Again, you have done no research and it's reflecting.

To be honest, the only 'vocal minority' here at least, seems to be those who are constantly belittling those who are (for the most case) respectfully expressing their wishes, wants and opinions. If you do not like it, that's fine, but please do not disparage those whom don't agree with you upon that. Though that being said, I must question the logic behind coming to a 'pro this' board with an opposing view and say the opposing view in such a rude and to be blunt, petty manner.

People for the most case here (and in the veira thread) are willing to talk, debate or even indulge in a civil conversation, but a lot of those who don't want the male veira/female hrothgar (for admittedly very flimsy/questionable reasons so far) come around to seemingly purely to put down everyone else to which is very disrespectful and comes off almost trollish. I personally don't like it and hope that if they can't find a better way to communicate their opinions then they should go somewhere else.

I'm curious why you all are still even arguing about whether or not they should be implemented/SE not listening to players. That's all over and done with. Here are the facts:

1) They had time to make 1 "full" race, meaning a male and female for 1 race.
2) The community was primarily requesting two races: Viera and a "beast" race.

So Yoshida and the devs decided to split the difference and make female Viera (they don't have any reference material for male Viera) and make male Hrothgar.

Finally, number 3) is that Yoshida has said that if the community wants the remaining genders, he's not going to say "no" and would like to include them in the future. But he's not "making any promises", because it's resource-intensive and they simply might not be able to find the time/resources.
