Everyone knows Female Hrothgar would be FemRoe v2 so not many of those people care outside of using "fairness" as a means to offer support and cover up the reason they want Male Viera.

I don't really understand what you mean here. To be honest, if only male viera are implemented into the game, it's no skin off my back. I don't personally care about female hrothgar. They most likely won't be played by a lot of people, but I'd still like it if people who want female hrothgar have that as an option. I don't get what you mean by "covering up".

I've a mighty feeling this is just a case of confirmation bias. If you weren't looking so hard for posts accusing SE of sexism and yoshi being homophobic, you'd see plenty of people in favor of male Viera and Female Hroth who think it' seriously dumb to make those claims.

Agreed. The people who think male bunnies are only wanted for a fetish are narrowminded, and lack the foresight to see that ERP is a minority only majorly popular on select worlds.

People want male bunnies because they love Viera. The Ivalice Alliance is immensely popular, and people have always wanted male Viera. Its one of the greatest mysteries in Final Fantasy.

You know, this is exactly the reason why the male Viera thread is getting more bumped than female Hroth. Because people like you come up with weird accusations and insults, and they pop up more often in the viera thread than here.

Even the proViera share the same opinion like you, to accuse Yoshida and the dev team being sexist or homophobic is wrong on every level, that creating new races is a lot of work and takes up resources. But you guys are just keep ignoring that and bring those things constantly up. No wonder all these threads are highly active. I don't think its confirmation bais at all seeing as I dont have a bais against male viera at all. Only bais I have is being interested in viera in general.

Use to come to this forum just to post in the support thread for the race. Never cared about the dudes by was 100% sure they'd come. Viera get revealed, no males shown annnnd now all viera talk is about males. People lash back by calling the females oversexualized or lazy for looking exactly how they always look...but we wait.

Til HROTHGAR are revealed, now all hell breaks loss. People threaten to leave the game over this, so many English speaking alarmist nutbags calling yoshi homophobic even a community manager or w/e talks on tweeter about how disappointed they are with these people. I've even gotten people who say yell "sexist" to admit that its because they want oversexualized male too. By large some see how silly and childish this makes them look and the back lash to their tantrum has not helped.

And I see people who scream that whoever asks for male viera or female hrothgar are SJW Femnazi degenerates and begin slinging around slurs indiscriminately, does that make you a racist or a homophobe because you seem to share a point with them? No, for the same reason yoshida and the staff aren't sexist or homophobes because of a decision they decided to implement. You shouldn't look at a couple of negative posts and make a sweeping generalization at all, especially when a majority of the unique posts are posters saying something along the lines of "I support this gender being added in."

Either way in my opinion it doesn't really matter whether it's missing genders, blue mage was received in a similar way with people just calling any criticisms about the job pre and even post launch "whinning" and dismissing arguments as people being entitled and this being the best way blue mage could be implemented.

Hell even as I've stated before, people complained about ranged dps becoming casters and were called babies, despite multiple people leaving bard post HW because of those changes.

My perspective is who cares if people are or arent thirsting over it. What's it to anyone if some people eRP over it? Its roleplay to them, and theyre having fun. You dont like it, keep your nose out of it. If theyre running up to you and including you in their RP shenanigans, then you can say "Hey man, not my thing, leave me out of it." And yes, some people want to be sexy or cute. Thats how it works for them. We all know this, and telling ourselves the way our characters look is irrelevant isnt true. We make them in ways that appeal to us, and for each our own reason. For some people, that might be being attractive. For others, maybe not. And that is fine.

But point is let people do what they want to do if its for them. Whether its people who want them to be cool, or for variety and interest, or for equality, or even for thirsting, let people be themselves and let that be that. This is like one of the least interesting and silly opinions cause it literally is trying to moralize other peoples own when it has nothing to do with you. Not a thing. Like people who claim they shouldnt exist for lore have much more ground than this position.

Because Balmung. Its always Balmung. People want to read about other servers dirt, and they want to make fun of it, because they like reading about drama for entertainment.

Even though Mateus, and Omega are ERP hubs too. Nevermind that though. Balmung is always the terrible place that people make fun of, despite it being nowhere near as bad as Goldshire was in WoW. Balmung has quite a healthy community, but no one on other servers cares about that.

All of the "gender lock fandom" here is a vocal minority joke in the grand scheme of things. That Viera male thread is big ... but how much of that is just non stop debates or just the same group of people talking in cycles in an effort to keep it relevant to "show support?"

To put it bluntly Viera male's topic is the hot topic because some people see Viera as "eye candy" and wanted to see play boy bunny bois to please their Kink. Tis why when they didn't get it many people felt comfy calling Yoshi sexist (as if he made Viera to be eye candy to straight men instead of looking at the fact that people who PLAY females in this game clearly prefer attractive/ cute females over the likes of Femroe and Elezen) and homophobic (cause clearly he most hate gays if he didn't make some eye candy boi for gay men....). They have since self policed that out for the most part from what I can see but it's clearly the driving motivation.

I mean, I try to avoid this topic because even though I WOULD play female Hrothgar I know anyone here who isn't one of the 7K femRoe players in this game most likely won't suddenly want to play a FemRoe with an animal head.
