Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

Despite them being called Ronso on the 1st, I still refuse to believe, or ever refer to the Hrothgar as Ronso. So....heck, bring it on, a Horned HrothGal?! Id be all for that! I hardly wear hats, so I could compromise for a Horn on my Future Lioness :3
Ive been very vocal about my preference and what I want and will play. But at this point, I just want them to look good, to look like Lionesses / Real Cafolk in general like the Males.
That is the requirement. As long as they can meet that, everything after that I feel I can live with...except I pray they arnt tiny and feeble like Female Au-Ra next to Male Au-Ra.

We need another Tall and tough race like The Roes as well as another Tiny race to go with the Lalafell. (Ivalice Moogle bby!)

I know what you mean, it is a hard comparison between Hrothgar of 14 and Ronso of 10. But the inspiration is there and I wanted to play as a Ronso woman since 10, my love for them was doubled while playing Blitzball! And yes, big strong feline woman, at least as tall as the males and looking like they could snap a cat boy in 2! We already have Miquo'te for small and dainty cat girl, I want a tall and fierce cat woman!

I feel like I'm in that rare group that really likes the coeurl mustache face for Hrothgar men (Bajsaljen's face). No idea how they might give the women something similarly coeurl looking tho. ;-;

Can't wait for the reveal, I've reached the point of not even caring what they might look like anymore I just want to make my kitty queen already, been wanting one since I started playing this game during Shadowbringers.
Obviously Fan Fest and 7.0 seem the most obvious (especially given the graphics update like I pointed out in a previous post on this thread) but I'm still clinging to a small hope for maybe 6.5 so can't wait to be crushed when we see nothing at that Live Letter wooo.

You are definitely in a rare group, but don't feel alone in it :3 I find Bajsaljen really good looking, and I even helped a friend of mine fantasia into one for a month and he went for that face as well.

I don't know how they'd replicate it for the females. BUT it'd be interesting to see something similar being added. And no, I don't care about women having moustaches :P normalize body hair for once~

You are not alone! I have a soft spot for coeurl face, mostly because it's from the game and the evolutionary implication (do Coeurls and Hrothgar have the same ancestor!? OvO). But I was thinking about how they might implement that, a moustache might not be feasible for a female character, but I think they could do 1 of 2 things to solve the issue. Either move the coeurl whiskers more toward the side of the face instead of under the nose (giving it more of a whiskers look) or use them as eyebrows (making them a bit more slender so as to not clutter the forehead).

Speaking of faces, what faces do you think females should have?

The males have:
Face 1: Lion
Face 2: Tiger/Leopard
Face 3: Coeurl
Face 4: Ronso

I think the females could have:
Face 1: Lioness
Face 2: Cheetah/Panther/Caracal
Face 3:Coeurl
Face 4: Ronso

Would that cover all ranges? The males face 1 is softer if you want to make a gentle-looking Hrothgar. Face 2 is more on the cute/handsome side if you just want the option of making a pretty Hrothgar. Face 3 is more on the bada$$ and feral side if you want a scary-looking Hrothgar. And Face 4 is if you either want to RP as a Ronso or want a beast race but with a more Human shaped head, or you just want to RP as an Oni and that face is the only one with a horn (sadly).
And I think the female faces would cover the same range: Face 1 soft, Face 2 Pretty/cute, Face 3 Fierce and Face 4 Ronso/More humanoid head.


As for the announcement, most probably it will be in 7.0, it doesn't make sense before that because of the graphic update. Like a lot of other people have said, there is no way they would make a low-fidelity model for 6.5 just to be replaced with a better model a few months after. Even though I wish I could have them, it's just not a good thing to get your hopes up just to be disappointed for 6.5 (/pat <wait.1> /pat). Better to expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised if they do announce them or just not get too hurt by them not including them.
There is a third option, but even that I am iffier about. They could announce them at the fan fest, then a week or so after release the benchmark.

Apparently there is an African legend that those markings come from a cheetah mother who had her cubs stolen from her by a hunter and cried for so long that permanent tear streaks appeared on her face which she passed on to her future cubs. So oh man, I would make a cheetah looking Hrothgar in an instant if those markings were an option.

I will be really shocked if they don't give us a Ronso face as an option since they went out of the way to give that to the men, just makes sense for them both to have it then especially since they seem to love callbacks to other Final Fantasy games. The real question there is will they let us have a horn or are they gonna leave that men only? Give us the horned women, SE! Or heck, give the ladies two horns.

Thank you, was really thinking about that for a while. The legend sounds so cool! I hope if they do add a cheetah face option they do allow those streaks!

And I am 99% sure they give us the Ronso face. Mostly because of the popular fan art of the gender bend Kimahri, and if what they said that they looked at fan art when designing male Viera is true, there is to be believed that they would do the same for Female Hrothgar so the Gender bend Kimahri as face 4 and maybe take inspiration from Karmaho's art for the rest XD.

As for the Horn I really, really, really want one for the females too! But in FFX only male Ronso had a horn...

That we've seen/that we have designed

I believe the Ronso of Spira were just all "same-face" because they were NPCs, and that they actually did have a lot more differences than met the eye. So too do Hrothgar, who much like human beings look distinct.

We don't see many female Ronso going around in Spira, since there isn't any major female character of the race that's noteworthy, same for the Guado.

So chances are there are some out there who do have a horn. We just never saw one in the one game they ever showed up.

I had a thought. It might not be true, but thought about putting it out there. The have started working of Female Hrothgar last year around January. A lot of people that work with 3D models do know that this process, does take time, at most 3 months. Animations another 2 months and gear fitting about 4 or 5 months. So they should have everything done by the 10 or 11th month.
Do you guys think that there might have been a chance for the team to take the opportunity and also revisit the male models as well? I am not refering to the head since that problem seems to be solvable now, but more the body/hunch?
I would really like if the male models also got some love, even if that is just the option to remove the hunch.

But I was referring to the hunch being toggleable since a lot of Hrothgar want this, maybe a look at the body and the texture maps to make them nicer and more defined and maybe more patterns for the fur marks?

Either way, a gal can dream.
