No. But the running animation should be all 4's. Archeage Firran's run on all 4's. Walking animations are 2 feet. If people want more of that "Beastly" feeling to a beast race, i think it would be a nice touch.
Anthros are different from common animals. Often times they're an escape from the boring "normal" human-ish races you see. Due to being based more on an animal than a person, they're oftentimes more interesting. Just look at Charr from Guild Wars 2, a good example of an interesting race. Especially the females, since they don't fall into the "norms" of female genders with races.

I suppose the races are already limited. So why not! No headgear, hairstyles, armgear, leggear. Awesome!
Charr males are kind of cool, I'll give you that, but the females look dopey.Anthros are different from common animals. Often times they're an escape from the boring "normal" human-ish races you see. Hilarious. So people want to be an animal but still keep the most defining separation between human and beast, walking on 2 feet/moving on all fours.
If I was fixated on beastly races I'd go all the way and want an all fours beast.
What's interesting is that for all the talk of 'beastly' aesthetics, the vast majority of those who supposedly like such features end up going for the 'cutest' combination of features possible. Almost every single Hrothgar I see in-game or on the forum makes use of the 'Runar' face, for instance - which is arguably the least fierce of all the possible base features.
The closest thing the game has every had to a playable 'beastly' race is the original concept art for Au Ra. Which was changed heavily throughout development.
Yes, I see that as well with the Runar face and fully dressed. Rarely do you see shirtless hrothgar or showing a lot of fur. You see more male Roegadyn with less clothing than you see hrothgar, which is really interesting when you consider that a beastly race is supposed to stray away from human norms. If male hrothgar could wear helmets/hats the only defining beastly feature would be the tail unless you close in on them.
This thing at least manages to show claws through gloves and things like that

And? So in order for something to be "Beastly" it has to be fierce and savage looking? A race can be beastly and look cute, fierce, savage, whatever. I mean, were not talking blood dripping out the mouth here. What's interesting is that for all the talk of 'beastly' aesthetics, the vast majority of those who supposedly like such features end up going for the 'cutest' combination of features possible. Right, because women with yet again strap-on dragon bits and the draconic equivalent of a Hrothgar are more bestial than Hrothgar themselves.
Here's another one with the full slides. 90% of them are humans with strap-on animal bits.

man that female au'ra concept art was freaking awesome... i'm still mad they scrapped it for a waifu race... even more when females have the least variety in ff14. for people that never saw the concept art for female au'ras (at least one of them)
also to note, i understand races with horns like that /claws/feet like that are near impossible to add, but something similar would have been neat for sure!

I mean, that just looks like a FemRoe with spiky gloves and a tail and horns. Nothing super bestial about that.man that female au'ra concept art was freaking awesome... i'm still mad they scrapped it for a waifu race... even more when females have the least variety in ff14.
