Don't let the entitled people screaming for non existence bunny bois get to you and the other things like healer dancer which i thought i was expecting but I'm perfecting fine with range dps.
adding two whole races alone is plenty enough for me and.

if those people are gonna unsub for not being to play a male version that no one has ever seen then fine they aren't here for the core values of the gameplay in the game. FFXIV has added so much in good time frames per 3-4 months every 3-4 months compared to other mmos. as an example gw2 which when they add content every number of months I find my self completing it in about an hour or two and never touching it again. wow I haven't touched that dead horse since cata i did trial pandas but that only further solidified on me never wanting to play that game again. and bdo makes this game's grind like a cakewalk

I have intense respect for the FFXIV team. I could natter all day about how much this game impresses me.

But I am very disappointed in the gender locking of the new races. This feels like a step backwards. Not only was it removed in 2.0 but the new races are very cliché in that the females are sexy and slender while the males are large and muscular. So not only does the act of gender locking disappoint me, but also how the new races are examples of over-used and outdated tropes.

SE should have properly addressed why a new healer wasn't added. And I don't mean some small comment in an interview. It should have been stated in the keynote. Acknowledging the expected disappointment of no new healer class along with an explanation would have done a lot to ease the anger surrounding it.

However despite this my love for the game hasn't diminished. I don't agree with everything SE does...but really, who does? You can't please everyone and no one gets everything right all the time. And honestly after the multitude of blunders I have experienced with Blizzard, this drama surrounding races and healers seems very small. Those two issues, while very disappointing, are far from game breaking.

I get your point but after playing WoW and seeing balance significantly worse go on for well over a decade...I'm more patient with the state of balance in XIV.

Healer balance has always proven to be a very difficult subject.
The main issue comes down to the fact that each healer has a very unique niche where they excel. You'll have an entire raid tier where White Mage is dumpster tier and then suddenly there are 30% more WHM than AST clearing UWU and 60% more in UCOB. If a class is better people will use it and with the healers all having their own niche it's very hard for one not to be better than the other.
Frankly the only way to balance out healers is through some very heavy homogenization as much as I would dislike that.

Personally I think they need to stop using Savage raids comps as the litmus test for class balance. The proportion of players that actually engage in the content is minimal comparatively. If the job is balanced, and capable of doing the content it should be enough. Expecting all jobs to be equal just hurts the over all game, and makes development overly difficult clearly.

The Official Forums and reddit are very isolated hugboxs that have turned into a circus attraction over the past couple days with their immature demands and accusations of homophobia and sexism towards the developers. They're a laughing stock to normal people.
