Is DNC Aiming Gear or Scouting Gear?

I can imagine DNC to have both, but I also imagine that Yoshi P wants scouting gear shared with another job. And if aiming gear is shared, it will share with 3 jobs and scouting will remain as 1.

I'd love to hear if anyone caught anything about the specific type of gear they will wear during the Fan Festival, or other interview sources.

plus a job thats throwing chakrams sharing gear with one that throws shurikens pretty fitting

Bard and Machinist share Gear I think Dancer will be within that gear type.

They said it would be DEX, although someone did ask if NIN would be moved to something else seeing as it doesn't quiet fit with ranged DPS, but apparently it would take a lot of work... as usual.

Scouting's aesthetic is a lot more fitting for DNC as its designs tend to emphasize mobility by being form-fitting and/or skimpier.

I think it's also about time NIN's monopoly on scouting gear ended.

My bet is Dancer will have the same gear as BRD and MCH since they are all ranged Physical DPS. RDM, BRD, SMN (and BLU) all share ranged Magical gear.

Scouting would be good.... but considering how wrong I was thinking RDM would use scouting gear two years ago.... I'm gonna say that likely won't be the case, and they'll use Aiming.

I do hope they consolidate DPS gear, though. Having maiming on a separate set no longer makes sense. It used to have lower magic defense, but that's no longer the case, and the higher physical defense doesn't really mean anything to a DPS job. So.... my ideal solution, MNK, DRG, SAM share gear, DNC and NIN share gear, BRD and MCH share gear.

They referred to DNC as a "Ranged Dps" during the Fanfest reveal so I would think "Aiming" gear shared with ARC/BRD/MCH.

I feel like Scouting gear has more options that suit Dancer, but there's also another important reason that I think it's more likely to be used than Aiming gear: damage type.

Bard and Machinist both use piercing damage, while Dancer (with chakrams, shuriken and throwing knives mentioned as possible weapons) is most likely slashing damage like Ninja.

Scouting would be the smarter choice from a design perspective if only to balance out gearing: 4/3/3/2/2/3 would feel a lot better in terms of drops, mainly in 24-mans, than 4/3/3/3/1/3.
