Don't forget that one of the beast tribes is just a race we already have in different clothes. So that's a limited beast tribe too.
They are, but it has to be limited.
Only one player per instance.
It takes 11min to kill a mob, and there is only 1 mob on the map.
You are only allowed to stay in an instance for 10min 59sec.
Will anyone be able to kill this mob? Nobody knows! Endless fun! Less = more!
I agree with you regarding that dismissive, "I got mine, screw you!" mindset. That's why I try hard to empathize with people who are disappointed with certain decisions and making it clear that I have a bias in that I don't really care much for the races. And then we have things like healers refusing to queue out of spite for a lack of a new healer and other tactics which makes it harder to care when it makes people come off as petulant children. And I'm not saying you or the OP are acting like kids, but the general outcry gives me the wrong impression. Then again, it's not me they're trying to get attention from. Not everyone minds Eureka, not everyone minds the current gender lock, the lack of healers, Square Enix being incosistent, etc. etc. etc.
Of course not everyone minds. It still doesn't make something "right".
And no I'm not trying to pass it as legitimate, I'm addressing what some people are doing to the actual argumentation and are dismissing it because apparently "If it's fine for me, it's fine for everybody!" is the mentality, as you just demonstrated.
I'm very much aware of the current BLU situation, which is I AM unsubbed and I did not pre-order Shadowbringers and I plan to remain so because I do have an issue on principle to have ICONIC JOBS butchered for the sake of cheap content.
I would not stand it for other jobs too, and guess what, there have been multiple suggestions that would eliminate the grand majority of issues, which includes not getting rid of this "limited job", but also allowing those who want BLU to be able to main it like all the others.
It's funny though how you are doing exactly what I said those SPECIFIC people were doing. Which was the point of my post.
As for BLU, I respect that position, but either you're going to have to let BLU go or play another game. It's not going to become a standard job anytime soon. And other jobs will likely join BLU near the end of every expansion.
On the contrary, I wasn't being completely dismissive of his post. The Shadowbringers related parts are to be dismissed since we have no information as to how we will affect the areas. The rest are things we generally disagree about, though in areas like the races I do feel bad that people didn't get a chance of playing as a male Viera or Female Hrothgar. It's the overreaction and pettiness that really sours my mood.

I understand what people mean with the "overreaction", but thus far just reading it was a minority on both camps using "sexism" and "toxicity" for their argumentation, which is not a good stance, especially when followed by plenty ad hominems. But those people discredit themselves.
Those who hold something dear to them and see it being shattered into pieces, there is not much else to do other than accepting it in defeatism or protest.
On a personal level, I cannot stand to see BLU like this, and it sapped my will to play greatly, knowing that it's useless at the moment and after reading the interviews, the job will forever have its handicaps and will never allow me to do the story, current content, etc. I would not like to see other people go through it either because of other jobs being treated like this.
So I'm more than content in leaving to protest, and support people's call for revisiting the "limited job" system or doing away with it, if I can, so that I may enjoy the game by playing BLU.
In regards to Shadowbringers, I'm just not impressed, which makes me leaving even easier.

Yes, it's most likely a lot of shit stirrers trying to cause drama. There are other posters who share a more personal and coherent criticism of the choices made. And I appreciate that, even if I don't personally agree with them.Fair enough.

I think it goes to how different people view topics like race and jobs so... differently. I understand your attachment to BLU and how disappointed you must feel that it's not a standard job. Whereas in my case, my favorite job being SMN (as in, from the entire FF franchise) and how I don't think of XIV's version captured that feeling the others had. And if it were to be turned as a limited job, I may even prefer it. If of course it satisfies that feeling I got from the past iterations and offers a lot of flavor and weirdness.
When it comes to the limited job system, I see it in another light. And we can sit here all day discussing these visions, but we will never agree. So I guess this is where we should leave things.
I wish you well in finding something that makes you happy.
Things that you don’t like aren’t scraps, if your unhappy with the content provided perhaps it would be better to find a game that you would enjoy more instead of being condescending towards people that still enjoy this game?
It's not very easy to find another Heavensward, I'm just hoping this game can one day reach that level of quality again since supposedly it's still the same people working on it.
Warrior of Light, has no more fights to fight, so he has to become WoD, that's kind of limited.
you get an entire expansion, with 2 new jobs, and 2 new races, that's scraps?
but gender lock, and no healer, just invalidates everything else?
I'm more concerned it's all just cosmetic changes from every other expansion.
Well they are doing "maintenence" on the combat jobs, and lv cap->80, so for people who are upset about no new healer, at least you have 3 reworked healers, with new skills, to level up (i'm not really expecting much from the "maintenence" though)
But it's always easier to complain about what you don't have, than what you have, i know; and once you have it, it's not that great anymore, then we strive for the next new thing, which turned out to not be exactly what we hoped for.
