You cannot make an opinion objective. A lot of people don't agree we're not getting anything compelling or new, and a look at the content numbers over on the wikia shows that even though we have three less dungeons than Heavenward eventually received, we've also had development split between Eureka and the experiment with BLU. Top that off with two variations of Rival Wings and other things and I don't think you can objectively say we're getting less in any way. You can say you didn't like it, and believe me I didn't like a lot of it either, but the amount of content hasn't slowed much at all which is surprising given the resource drain Eureka provided.I never expressed "woe is me" but at this point it is OBJECTIVE FACT that we arent getting what we for. I pay $60 and get triple the content typically. I pay $60 for a collector's expansion and see basically nothing new or compelling to a variety of different players. Cool if you're a raider. Bad if you're basically anything else. I figured I wasn't the only one with this question in my mind and I didnt see any other posts inquiring. I'm not talking about anything specifically just as a whole
Also the whole Live Letter and this Fanfest smacked of corporate meddling from what I've seen. Especially the Live Letter which definitely comes off as SE trying to get more players from the mainstream Japanese market and expecting to create buzz around holding an impromptu press conference during the 50th live letter. I don't think it was Yoshi-P's choice to side line actual game news for that which is also probably why the lore panel felt like it came right out of left field. Instead it feels like they were told they needed to save time for the announcement and decided to just throw their hands up and fill the void with inane chatter until it was time rather than risk going over schedule. That's just my interpretation and is definitely subjective but given what we know of Yoshi-P I can't imagine he didn't have stuff to show us.
I'd also argue the team feels as passionate as ever and staying for the Development Panel after definitely helped soothe some of my annoyances with the live letter and the other issues from the day before. Watching the environmental artists geek out had me smiling extremely hard and was the first time this entire fanfest where I could tell how passionate about this game all these people were.
I don't know the answer, and I'm trying to help him by saying that your comment was useless and obvious. Im following my advices, I'm not disturbing OP.You didn't answer his question either hypocrite. Before you start preaching something, how about you follow your own advice?
And what am i supposed to answer? He didn't ask a real question, his post is a "woe is me" post. If hes asking where is his money going to, then the answer is SE obviously.
We obviously don't want to get a "It goes to SE" obvious answer, would you? That's a lack of empathy.
And like I said, if you don't know what you're supposed to answer, don't disturb, let who know the answer help the thread. Your comment certainly didn't help a bit.

I'll agree the environmental designer was a nice change of pace for those that bothered to stick around for it. Also objective is an exxhagerration but seeing what other devs have done with less money I'm a little miffed that so many features in an expansion seem half done. You cannot make an opinion objective. And where do you think the money for XIV came from? Thin air? It came from other projects SE created. Using money generated from one project to fund another is standard. Get used to it. It happens constantly in every industry.
Someone didn't watch the background artists panel or the trailer.
Just because you don't like the content that is being created doesn't mean it costs no money to create it. If you dislike what is happening that much then vote with your wallet.
If you people don't understand that this is the JAPANESE FAN FEST for JAPANESE players, and they're going to get some JAPAN centric things like the movie (which is a big deal for FFXIV over there, just not here in the US) and Dissidia and other things, I don't know what to tell you. I know a lot of people are used to playing a game where the main target audience is United States players and also some European. That is not the case in this game, the game is MUCH more popular in Japan and they do a lot of things for that audience. Not everything is about you, stop being so America centric. Japanese players pay their subs too, and this information is interesting to them, if you actually watch the stream they were really excited about the movie announcement.
Do it! Unsub! Do it now!
On the topic of the environment designer. He said something that reaffirmed my point. "I have to pay with my own wallet" "small indie company" the implication was that our sub money should help him. I'll agree the environments and the music are the sole drive of my interest in ShB but the music was my first thought. Also, obviously it takes money to create. But with the money they GET we shouldnt be so sparse on content. Many people agree ShB was less impressive than HW. There are more subs now than then. And silas I said before. I'm not miffed enough to stop my sub. But guessing from your dumb, reactionary response, any kind of negative feedback implies complete displeasure in the product. Go be boring elsewhere. And where do you think the money for XIV came from? Thin air? It came from other projects SE created. Using money generated from one project to fund another is standard. 70% of them are going to their share holders.
"American centric" my lord, that's some spicy wording. Everything else you said was misguided, dull, and opinionated and you're too bland to give a serious response to.If you people don't understand that this is the JAPANESE FAN FEST for JAPANESE players, and they're going to get some JAPAN centric things like the movie (which is a big deal for FFXIV over there, just not here in the US) and Dissidia and other things, I don't know what to tell you.
