Wow so many diverse and unique options. Hrothgar really filled a niche that wasn't being satisfied before. There couldn't possibly be another race that would give them a chance to balance out the roster.

Toddlers are running around killing gods and dainty aura girls are swinging around giant hunks of steel. Realism isn't an excuse.

What kind of excuse is that when we have Lalafells and female Au Ra? They're as dainty and delicate as can be, having a male of that stature wouldn't have been as disappointing as this announcement was for many.

Where did you get that male viera were going to be dainty. Nothing we have heard about them ever says they were small and dainty.

Also, I wouldn't say Au Ra females are Dainty, they are short. But still have the same proportions as midlander and Miqo'te.

I'd say what about short races like WoW dwarf or gnome? a "non cute"/potato small race, so those who prefer playing smaller characters wont have to go with something cutesy all the time

This shouldn't be a surprise. If society places value on buffed up muscular males as the vanguard of manhood, it seeps into media and games.
Like Au Ra males are tall and muscular while females are short and hyper-feminine.

The game is just a reflection of the values of society.

In North American media, a lot of people are trying to change the typical stereotypes (and facing a lot of backlash).
Can't expect every form of media to get with the times.
