Because if they said no male Viera at the last fanfest, the coming introduction of a male-only race would have been too telegraphed, leaks aside. Instead he said to read the in-game lore, which straight-up says that anyone expecting to encounter a male Viera is going to be disappointed.

What would be "kind of weird" about a male rabbit? Like truly truly how is that any more or less weird than cat bois, girl roes??? Furhtermore, so because one man thinks it's "kind of weird" to have male tall slender rabit eared race no one gets them? Get that kind of thinking the hell away from me.
