The whole transformation Fal'Cie references seem legit though (of course likely at least a little bit of all FF will pepper in, even FFXIV's own). We wont know for sure until.. it's known, lol, but sounds totally plausible to me .

I'm expecting FF8, since Nomura worked on that, but I'd love FF13 love...since everyone else hates it :/

From what we've heard about the first. Pretty much everything is similar to the plot of lightning returns. Instead of the chaos, it's the flood of light. They both even have areas where people are just partying until the world ends.

If it ends with us killing god, i won't be surprised.
