The new 8player raid „Eden“

So, after the revealing of the new raid being „Eden“ let us speculate about possible bosses:

1.) maybe it will contain bosses from Final Fantasy VIII since eden is a gf obtainable in VIII
2.) or it will contain enemies/bosses from Final Fantasy XIII since Eden is a falCie and area in the game


Personally i’d like to have some more enemies/bosses from VIII, cause right now it is just diabolos and the head-hands thingy in the lochs (maybe some enemies in eureka i don‘t know about cause i hate eureka with a passion)

Fighting brothers from FFVIII i.e.
Or fighting some of the undying from FFXIII would be awesome too

So there a lot of possible enemies

What are your thoughts/suggestions?

My first thought was, since we are getting gunbreaker, that we may see the actual Eden Guardian Force. I heard on the fly that Alexander may be back at its full strenght, since he is heavy on light aspected aether, controls time and I don't really remember if he is also multidimensional.

If we are taking the FFVIII route this time, I would love to see Ultimecia's Castle.

Alternatively, the theme of this raid will probably lean toward celestial creatures. Angels and stuff. We know of a certain famous villain that is also called *mumblemumble* angel...

I doubt it'll be Eden the GF just because both Alexander and Omega were running around giant machines(less so in Omega's case, but it's still a pocket of space created by and tied to it).

I definitely think it'll be plucking elements from 8 if only because the picture they showed for it is a reference to an iconic Squall/Rinoa scene, but I'll go out on a limb and guess that Rinoa(or a character that's a reference to her) will be an antagonist just because of the angelic design elements she had and because it would be in line with 8's plot for her to lose control to a powerful Sin Eater(instead of the Sorceress) at some point, which there's already precedent for in XIV considering how common Voidsent possession is.

You may be on to something, I've never seen this before but its color scheme seems really similar to the color scheme of the First in general

Well considering that World of Final Fantasy is kind of canon, there are certainly at least several Alexanders around.

Eden is a city in FFXIII too, where you fight against transformed L'cie, the home city of Oprhan the Fal'cie. I won't be surprised to see bosses insipred by L'cie/Fal'cie considering the "god" aspect of them, its not a long stretch to call them light-aspected.

As much as I hated XIII they probably won't feel that much out of place in a light distorted parallel world. Maybe not the place itself, but coudl be used as an inspiration for the design, its a very bright place really living to its name if you put aside the event of the final chapter of the game.

Well, could be our final opponent here, the place itself revealing being a sentient being we have to vainquish. A bit too much alike Alexander but hey at least its not a giant robot filled with boring gobelins.

Adding to the FFXIII themes, the city of Eulmore is themed very similarly to Yusnaan from Lightning Returns.



That was one of the first things I thought about when they revealed Eulmore and now that you've brought up Eden, I'm wondering if Eulmore being similar to Yusnaan is not just coincidental.
