No, I read it. All I got is "those concept pictures led us to believe in something that was never promised in the first place". And why am I not surprised to see you here crying about it, just like you've cried in every single complaint thread that has been posted since the Keynote ended?

Do yourself a favor and go to bed; wake up tomorrow and take in all the 5.0 information that is coming, then if that's still not good enough for you, just unsub and save yourself the stress and heartache of not having bunny boys.

So, concept art of Male Viera = concrete proof they promised them? Or more like you expected them without any solid declaration from the Dev team?
I don't think you read what I wrote. Obviously concept art is not proof or a promise or a fact, but its certainly going to give those of us who wanted Viera added into the game hope that there could be a male and female added to the game at some point.

Gender locked races are a thing of the past, I'm not going to throw my support behind this decision. If the developer had such an issue with implementing male Viera and female Hrothgar they should have gone with an entirely different race, to begin with. A single full race is better than what we're getting, it's only disappointment.

Unsubbing won't help them make your dreams come true.
I've been subbed for a long time, and they still managed to break one of my dreams. Sooo... too late there. (And no, it's not about the whole gender locked race thing either. But I did raise an eyebrow to that) That said, it's true that I won't be unsubbing. I've invested too much into this game (and the game's story is still interesting to me) to just drop out because of a few "bumps in the road".

... but I retain the right to remain disappointed by certain decisions. Like with any other game, I always manage to find something that irks me to varying degrees. And it's because I know that, that I try not to be too hard on game developers. (It's ALWAYS something after all)

The vitriol is a bit much, but people do have a right to voice their concerns. Likewise as pointed out while they didn't /promise/ Male Viera they did their utmost not to actually deny their probability. A lot of this backlash simply wouldn't be here if they had come out from the start and stated Viera were mono-gendered back in Paris and taken out the lore lines about the males during the Alliance Raid quest line. What is happening now is several months worth of hype, debate, and expectation all being thrown out the window and it's no wonder some people are genuinely upset. Especially when it was such an easy problem to outright prevent in the first place.

That said I do feel bad for the dev team who had no hand in how the lore or the marketing of fanfest was presented as well as the forum staff. ESPECIALLY the forum staff. I do not envy their job right now as the forum continues to explode.
Concept art is never an indication of something will be implemented. Concept art is literally drawing up plans and taking what you want, dismissing what you don't want and maybe fusing ideas you do like into something new. Tons of concepts don't make it into a game and some aren't ever even shown to the public. We were also shown demon concept art. Does that mean Square Enix is promising demons as a play-able race? No. Are they actively saying that demons won't be a race? No, there's no need. That's the whole basis behind concept.

They also can't backtrack their lore. Let me explain - Viera are not a single gender consisting of only females. They are not like Hyrule's Gerudo (1 male every 100 years versus 1 or 2 males per every 10?) . Viera have males - they live annexed from the more "social-able" female Viera and are basically exiled from contact from everything to guard their homes.

...We're paying them a monthly subscription and full price expansions as well as optional payed content like retainers and cosmetics. I seriously don't understand why you think it's wrong for customers to express their dissatisfaction with the content. It's entirely within customers rights, SE has their own PR they don't need fanatical fans that will defend them against any form of criticism.

The thing is, there are ways to show our discontent and the one that companies understand the best is when your customers leave you over something you've done. Saying "Oh, well, it's not what I want but here's more money" only encourages further missteps.

And is there solid proof that they won't ever add them? No. They caved on Man'qote, Fem Roes and Femlanders in 2.0. But preaching concept art as the gospel is just completely ignorant. If you go by that premise, we should have this for female Au'Ra:

Can people please stop silencing legit complaints because you don't happen to like what they want?
That would be really nice, regarding the people dismissing male Viera/Female Ronso.

I for one have never implied that we can't voice our concerns. I'm only suggesting that people get a little more civilized, understanding, patience, etc. Is it really too much to ask for in this day and age?

They can always finish them later if the resources and demand is there. And I'm sure they want to.
