Do not give developers excuses for bad decisions! Stop giving them slack for mistakes! This facilitates them for FUTURE mistakes because 'it was ok once'. 'they didn't seem to mind too much' As long as people defend them blindly, they will keep pushing the limits of what is and isn't acceptable. hold them ACCOUNTABLE when they pull this nonsense.

I'm not personally unsubbing over this -- the rest of the announcements were far too beautiful and inspired to do that -- but I definitely understand the folk who do. They're mad. They're insulted. ...We're paying them a monthly subscription and full price expansions as well as optional payed content like retainers and cosmetics. I seriously don't understand why you think it's wrong for customers to express their dissatisfaction with the content. It's entirely within customers rights, SE has their own PR they don't need fanatical fans that will defend them against any form of criticism.

Paying a monthly subscription is like paying your landlord. That includes the rights you actually have and don't have, and rights you think you have, but actually don't.

People who actually quit the game over this aren't quitting just over this. It's typically a bunch of stuff and this is just the final straw.

And that's their decision, as a paying customer.

They have reversed course before, so the precedent is there. But the constant complaining and whining by this community for a race that they never wanted to add in the first place is just a really, really sad look for this game.
