LF Info on naming conventions for Viera and Hrothgar

Hi! I'm sorry if someone posted this before!

I'm still seeking for solid information for the naming convention for Vieras and now, the Hrothgar!

In Viera, all I could gather was related Vieras had similar-looking (I can't read them) names;

Fran – sky pirate Balthier's companion.
Jote – Fran's older sister, leader of Eruyt Village.
Mjrn – Fran's younger sister.
Krjn – member of Clan Centurio.
Ktjn – Krjn's sister.

Otherwise it seems a bit norse to me, and how would it differ from the Feol Vieras? (I'm here assuming the 2nd clan would be the Feols, first being Rava)

And with the Hrothgar, does anyone have any thoughts about the naming convention style of the preexisting Ronso? I understand all their family names are their... race?

Aaahhhh I don't know why I missed this!!

Viera is a female given name, similar to Vera. It means "faith" in the Slavic languages, 
though it is sometimes associated with the Latin word "verus", "true" (both words are derived 
from the PIE *weh₁ro- "true"). It was formerly a nickname for Vieroslava, and is pronounced vyeh-rah

Lyubov, Zlata, Živa feels like very viable Viera names!

Hope someone digs at the Hrothgar's.
I'm terrible at languages so I'm not all to sure what similar patterns the name follows for the Ronso.
But will we be having a bunch of people running around with the surname Hrothgar? XD

I wonder if the four-letter first names are the rule for at least Fran's clan. Not familiar with them, so someone more knowledgeable might be able to clarify here.

For the Hrothgar, I wouldn't be surprised if we got Nordic-based lore for their names, seeing as they may be a little different from the Ronso on the First. Hrothgar is a character in Beowulf and is King of the Danes, so the lore and naming conventions might pull from that culture in some way.

The Ronso naming conventions might be closer to what Lunelagos listed earlier. If the family names are all "Ronso", then there's a very good chance that all Ronso will just appear with their first names, unlike many Lalas who prefer to be called by their full names. That said, the majority of NPCs seem to hide their last names when you click on them, so it might not seem strange until a Ronso NPC mentions that all their last names are "Ronso." That's my prediction!

Yoshi stated that the Hrothgar will have different heads that represent different animals (i.e. wolves or leopards) so I bet you that's going to tie into the surname somehow.

This is just addon information!

I found another thread that speculated that Vieras won't have surnames here. Perhaps a certain pattern in names would show a form of 'relation'. Just not as clear cut as Krjn and Ktjn.

I tried finding for meaning of names, but the only thing I pulled out was Fran = someone from France, and Jote is part of longer Indian names that have meanings of light. so that might be a bust there. (Ref; Prabhjote ; Damanjote )

Hmm! Something to contemplate and ponder upon! Since the Ronso all seemed to be of the same species, the Hrothgar are of different felines. So maybe the naming convention would be different as well. It'll be cool if it was like the Au ra where they have certain clans and certain surnames, I think.

Like how more cheetah-looking ones would perhaps be from a certain pride or such.

Yes! I just realized this after I read through the wiki for the umpteenth time! Again, it seems like I don't know how to read properly, that or I was blinded by the plesant aesthetic of a Feol... @w@.
Do you have any inkling of Viera naming convention you might share in case I missed something else again?

Viera have an Icelandic accent in FFXII. An easy comparison is the singer Bjork. Hm... Bjork.

So, there is another place of interest to look at while brainstorming names.
