I've lost all trust in Yoshida in all honesty. He yanked us along with the whole 'maybe in the next fan fest' only to reveal a gender lock. However I'm certainly not apposed to geomancer after reading up on their description in the 2nd encyclopedia.

Hi please don’t jump the gun and be all doom and gloom, I personally think there is definitely a healer on the way and I do believe that hammer reference was to do with that. Don’t take all the translations to heart as despite having practiced the two English translators were still just generalising what Yoshi said and not specifically to a set script.
Hammer references in ff series can be linked to a green mate from final fantasy tactics 2, a viera specific healer in that game. I personally just think the healer is still baking and not ready for showcase yet till maybe the may live letter, this will also keep the hype running. Keep faith peeps

I thought this initially too, but your paying an artist to do content and then specifically leave in a weapon that doesn't exist?. You would simply get them to alter the image to replicate a weapon that is, I think it was done on purpose and he was using it as a hint. But again my opinion and until Yoshi says there definitely wont be a new healer I will always be optimistic as no point being sad about something that hasn't been denied or confirmed. By the way I am not a healer main or even play them so I am not like this because I want one for me to play, just hope you in the healer community is addressed with something and not have to wait till 6.0. Live letter later today will be an indication.

Well, you know? not everyone watched the english streaming ñ.ñU
I was watching the japanese streaming and they pretty much said it was Nomura's mistake and he didn't notice that job doesn't exist and Yoshida was all like "we'll do something about that and maybe change it"
But ofc you're free to believe! Evrything can happend if people asks a lot for it.... maybe? xD

well to be fair and when you are optimistic it can be understood like, that because of that accident they created a new Job. Since a new weapon normally means a new job in ff14 and telling it that way makes it a fun narration too.

Yep, it can happen as you say! I mean, I'm main healer so I wish we have a new healer incoming whatever the reason is!

I will believe its still on the cards until Yoshi definitely confirms it wont. I might better believe maybe not a 5.0 release job but one released a few patches down the line, like they did with Nin?. Artwork can always be changed to to just leave it as a mistake and still show it as part of a keynote rather than in a live letter later once it had been addressed is where I would find confusion, hence the reason I still think its a link to a possible hammer healer type job. But as always I would rather be optimistic than be negative when nothing has been confirmed and denied with 3 months left to release info. Still think the job is being baked and not ready for announcement yet.
Oh and im not a healer, so SE not releasing a healer doesn't affect me at all. I would just rather help the healer community temper negativity until all else is truly lost.

There's something very wrong going on if the devs thought not having a healer for what will be 6 years is a good idea. It's like they don't even care about the role.

They could potentially make a healer who strikes the ground and elements come out and provide buffs/heals. Bring back stoneskin, haste(wind) healing waters, vines for slowing enemies etc. similar to how summons in FFXI used to buff parties. I don't think they would have even showed the picture at all if the hammer was a mistake or not going to be implemented in some way, a healer this xpac most likely not, but it would be nice.
