Male Viera... Unsubbing for now.

People can cancel their subscription for any reason if the game doesn't meet their expectations anymore. I myself am not going to unsubscribe, but I understand people who do so and respect their decision. Of course, it's not good for the game's development (if SE gets less money, they will have less money for hiring somebody to create the male Viera model), but we can't force anyone to enjoy something they clearly do not enjoy.

We were fine without viera. But when they announced it people couldnt wait to become sexy snd pretty cuse viera r going to have better face sculp pixels compare to existing races. Canceling bcuse of NO male vieta is the most stupidest thing ive ever heard. Wr did fine without them

I'm not saying anybody can't unsub or shouldn't unsub. Its your money do what you want with it. I've unsubbed plenty of times when i felt burnt out or didn't feel like playing.

If you don't find the game enjoyable, sure unsub. But if people are unsubbing solely for the fact that there is no male viera, then that is completely petty.

The thought of someone completely fine and enjoying the game, then hearing this announcement and is like "WTF NO MALE VIERA? UNSUBBING!"

Instead of being a voice inside the game to support a change you quit to make something not heard? Makes absolutely no sense at all. Why give up if it is really what you want? Shows the people that will stay are the ones that didn't care and they are right in doing what they did. I do not understand how quitting will help your cause. Oh and my own opinion, stay in the game and keep writing and adding and letting your voice be loud! You can do what you want as always but I do not see the help to your cause if you do?

And the 14 Players who unsub did it not just because of the missing male Viera, but they were something like the straw that broke the camel's back.
So many Players are unhappy with Heavensward 2.
A lot of things were handled pretty lazy with Stormblood and not everybody sees this Game anymore as a Game they want to pay Money for.
Especially paying 35 Euros for ShB, just to say "Nah, feels exactly like what I expected and now I feel like I wasted Money.".

I can understand this, because I was burned by a few Games I pre-ordered, like The Division.

1: Male Viera are not missing they were never THERE. To miss something it has to at one point be there.

2: If people were truly unhappy about things they should voice their opinions and not bottle them up like I have seen some claim they are forced to do. You are free to voice your opinion but others are also allowed to point out the flaws in it, I am helping run a FC and this is vary much a thing I have to keep telling one player who keep causing trouble if you never say anything no one can do anything.

3: If you don't want to play because you don't feel it is worth it then unsub but do not make a holyer then thou reason for it like a Genderlock, As well you can have the option to CANCEL a pre-order and get credit or your money back from places you bought it unless it is the PSN store. If you really felt that burnt out by this game then why did you even pre-order in the first place?

To share my own experiences:
Because it was a fragile yet manageable status quo. I played it so far like that, I'll keep playing, like you said, but I will be lying if I said the disappointments weren't piling up by now. But then I found something I actually looked forward to that was new, that was different, and not more of the same of the things that I did like. That the last expansion didn't give me. And you can say it's fans hyping themselves up, but SE could've, at any point between revealing female Viera and male Hroths, told us male Viera weren't coming. It would've been as easy as showing the Viera race slide in Paris instead of Tokyo since that had a clear 'female limited' line. Instead they didn't do that.
And suddenly that status quo, which was fragile enough to begin with, cracks. Something I really wanted isn't coming. And because for whatever reason they stuck to genderlocks instead of giving us one proper full race (and no, I probably would've kept subbed for similar logic if we were getting full Hroth). And I will be reminded of this decision and the disappointment that came with it every time I log into the game because you know Viera will be everywhere. That wasn't there before. That's new. And that was my breaking point.

'No male Viera' problem is a bit more complex. It's the race people were asking for years and when they finally got it, it turned out to be gender-locked. If they were dreaming of playing a male Viera for so long time, they have the right to feel disappointed (even I was shocked that the new races are gender-locked, I've never thought that SE would do something like this in FFXIV). So it's not about enjoying the game in general - it's more about losing trust to Yoshi and the rest of the dev team. Sure, they never told us that there will be a male Viera, but they knew that many of their players wanted to play them, so they really can't be surprised that people are upset. I believe that their intentions were good and they tried to compromise things, but still - in my opinion, it would be better to not get a new race at all than getting only one gender.

Se added Viera at fan request not because they wanted too. It was a race people had been asking since 2.0 as well the team clearly didn't want to do but wanted to meet fan demand so thus they made them based on FFXII where all you see are females because the lore between the two are vary much the same. They WANTED to make Ronso race and we had a leak of them months before. There was not reason for them to say they were female only because they though fans only wanted the female half the male hype was all done by fans.

As well i this was your breaking point I am going to give you some VARY simple advice. If you are on the tipping point between buying and not buying then wait until a month before THEN pre-order if you feel inclined. Pre-ordering months ahead then crying about it is only a mistake of yourself and a wast of your own money. I have given my own feedback to things I am displeased with but I have remained subbed since my join date and I haven't had any reason nor seen any reason to unsub nor do I regret anything I have gotten from Square because I do research and a sit on a subject for a day or two before buying.

Stop wasting your money and peoples time with this useless worthless shouting match. If you felt you wasted money pre-ordering then get your money back or be smarter about things when you buy them, I want a new PC but I have am sitting a waiting until the right moment. Giving feedback on the genderlocked races is fine but getting angry with the Devs over something the fan hyped themselves for is nothing more then worthless. The more you name call the devs or blame them for YOUR anger the less incline they are to take the feedback.

No offense, but it sounds like it wasn't making you happy to begin with if something so trivial like this was enough to trigger an unsub before the expansion even hit because the developers didn't cater specifically towards what you liked. It just sounds like you weren't loyal to begin with.

There could have been parts of the expansion you'd find fun later down the road, but you'll never know now.

They indeed may have been fun, but to push through a headache for the promise of a "maybe" at the end of a few months' recurring subscription fees is asking for a lot.

Either a person is given enough positive influences to reinforce the idea that staying subscribed is a good thing, or they aren't and they inevitably flake away from the game.

That everyone's perception of what is "positive" and what is "negative" is different is just part of being human. Quit the high horse crap; nobody's opinions are wrong or right.

Every opinion is like an a$$h@le. Everybody has one. But that doesn't mean we want to hear about it.

If you're hear to lend a voice to the discussion, that is the heart and soul of why these forums exist. Discuss it; why you think it's justified, why you think people should give it a chance.

But if you're just here to exclusively gas light somebody else's feedback, personal thoughts and/or stakes on a matter, you might as well do yourself a favor and stick your head in the sand for all the good you're accomplishing otherwise.

I hate when people say this.

Just because you aren't happy with only 1 gender for the race, doesn't mean we should scrap them.

You have no idea what they went through to add this race to the game. And just because you didn't get what you wanted, doesn't mean "let's just get rid of them until they add 2 genders."

Let's not forget that they said Au Ra were the last race, and surprise we got Viera and Ronso. Sure one gender for each race, but TWO new races.

You can whine and mope, but getting two new races is massive.

If you want to unsub because you didn't get what you want, then bye. That's what this thread is about right?
