Nope, i'm saying that this is not a game for me anymore. If SE made a mistake, only time will tell.
You did say gender lock or anything that break all possibility of player identity is a deal breaker for you, so you are saying from your personal perspective SE has made a mistake trying to please two different community requests. Since assuming they have already lost you as a player, so you must personally feel their choice was a mistake.
Ok, you affirming how i'm feeling it's beyond weird to me (and a lil pretentious). It's just a game dude, if it's no longer for my liking, i will not play. SE is not evil or anything. You did say gender lock or anything that break all possibility of player identity is a deal breaker for you, so you are saying from your personal perspective SE has made a mistake trying to please two different community requests. I am simply interested in what SE could have done differently from your perspective to keep you as a customer. Was simply confused with your reply to my question since you made it seem like you did feel SE made a mistake regarding the gender lock aspect, but then cite that as the reason as to why you are unsubbing. In the end trying to figure out what SE could have done differently with this situation.
Unless I misunderstood your first post and the reason you cited for unsubbing was different, if so then sorry for not understanding.
Maybe if you had a legitimate reason for unsubbing, then maybe people wouldn't be confused.
Unsubbing because of genderlock is by far the most ridiculous reason to unsub.
There is plenty of other real issues to unsub.
Any other reason would be better than "genderlock i'm unsubbing".
Everyone has different values and reasons for playing. Just because it's something you wouldn't unsub for doesn't mean other people cant.Maybe if you had a legitimate reason for unsubbing, then maybe people wouldn't be confused.

I never said you can't unsub, i just said its not a good reason.
Unsubbing because "genderlock" and "breaks player identity" is a pretty bad reason. Viera aren't even out yet, so what identity is even broken right now?
I can tell you the reason i quit WoW, outside of raiding and M+ there is nothing to do. The Azerite system feels terrible, and unrewarding. There isn't enough substance to keep me interested.
The genderlock thing is so tiny, its like saying "I'm quitting because Zandalari trolls are horde when they should have been alliance."
Or "I'm quitting because alliance got another horse mount again."
I understand that the company wants "I'm unsubbing" threads apparently.
But whenever i unsubbed from WoW or FF14 i just did it without making some big thread on reddit or the forums. Its not a big deal and nobodies business.
Just quit and leave. No need for the attention.
Why someone would unsub is, of course, none of your business, but it IS the company's literal business and since SE doesn't have an in-depth questionnaire when you unsub, this is the next best thing. Yoshi-P himself values the complaints and it can be for any reasons, of which you may or may not value the same as others.
For many, this game is about glamours, or what you can turn your character into, to the extent that they made a whole Gold Saucer mini-game out of it. Much like how they made a jumping mini-game because people liked the jump puzzles. You may feel that gender-locks or glamour are a minor thing but you don't play the game for the same reasons others do: some primarily RP, some game the Market Boards and craft, others decorate their houses or apartments.
It takes away the liberty from the game to me, i can choose my name, i can choose my job, i can choose my race, why i can't choose my gender? It's not a big deal for some and may be hard to empathize with that, but ridiculous? That doesn't make my reasons to unsub any less legitime than the others. I'm not attacking or being disrespectful to square enix for their decisions or anything like that, but i have the right to not pay for a game that i no longer want to play.Maybe if you had a legitimate reason for unsubbing, then maybe people wouldn't be confused.
