I will admit that I am okay with matriarchal glamazon bunnies, but I can understand why people would be upset by the lack of male Viera, too. It feels like this entire expansion needs to bake a little longer as opposed to being released so soon.

Toxic SJWs everywhere. Why wont you leave sane people alove?
I honestly think that the majority of the people that say they are unsubbing, won't actually unsub.
I think Shadowbringer's launch will have a massive sub count.
WoW is slowly killing itself, and they made FF14 free for a lot of people with Twitch prime. I even convinced some of my WoW guildies to play this game for a bit, and a few of them are tempted to play full on.
The tears will eventually stop, and people will realize its really not that bad.

Any of those unsubbing have a large house in Lavender Beds? I'm thinking of buying one.
USGamer recently posted a new Yoshi-P interview:

So sounds like he wants to hear the negative opinions, even from the ones willing to unsubscribe.USG: As well as new jobs to build into, the Viera race was announced. With the male-only Hrothgar announced at the recent Fan Fest as a counter to the female-only Viera, how has the early reception been and what can you expect from these new introductions?
NY: With the announcement made only two days ago, we're still going through all of the feedback from players. And the community team is analysing all the feedback so we can see what we're given, so we can't really give a comment on it right now. Before we made the decision to announce the Hrothgar, we understood that some people might have some opinions on the lack of counterparts for both races.
When we say 'feedback', that's just one word, but what we want is to hear all of the differing opinions-if they're upset about the lack of male Viera, or disappointed about that there's no female Hrothgar. First, we need to investigate each sort of concern, as well as the amount and 'temperature' of player concerns. If we don't analyse it, we won't be able to come up with the right answer.
Of course they do, its valuable information to any company as they can assess the options they can take to retain or bring back said players. Like Yoshida said in a GDC, a complaint is worth twice that of a compliment because it shows they still care. Square Enix would rather have people make threads about unsubbing and stating why than unsubbing in silence with no kind of feedback to work with.USGamer recently posted a new Yoshi-P interview:

This is very well put. I'm just hoping people upset about this aren't listening to those types of players saying to keep any negative feedback to themselves.Of course they do, its valuable information to any company as they can assess the options they can take to retain or bring back said players. The question is, are those saying they're unsubbing actually doing so? Because if they're not, they're giving SE a different kind of feedback, which is "we just say things that we don't do when we're upset". And as a wise man once said:
This is something that makes MMOs slowly kill themself over time.
Burning Crusade was a great Addon, because it was made, when Blizzard felt like it was the right moment. Wotlk had some kind of puffer because they took their time for BC and so it could also be baked till the end.
Now they force an Addon out the door every two Years and we see how that worked out since the Release of Cata.
And 14 is sadly no exception to this Problem.
Going from the Players I know who left the Game since the SB release I am not sure, if I should call SB our Cata or if ShB will be it.
I know a lot of Players who see ShB as the make or break Point of the whole Game. And the Start of ShB was pretty rough till now.
The same goes for every WoW Addon and 60 days later a lot of the Player are gone till the new Addon appears.
But you can't develop a MMO if a large Part of your Playerbase comes back for 60 days every 2 Years.
