This is very well put. I'm just hoping people upset about this aren't listening to those types of players saying to keep any negative feedback to themselves.Of course they do, its valuable information to any company as they can assess the options they can take to retain or bring back said players. Like Yoshida said in a GDC, a complaint is worth twice that of a compliment because it shows they still care. Square Enix would rather have people make threads about unsubbing and stating why than unsubbing in silence with no kind of feedback to work with.
