Hi I know that people are not gonna agree with me but this is my opinion. (I will not respond to people on this thread I am simply here to post my opinion on the matter) I think they should not gender lock any playable races no matter how much of a re-skin it is. lets face it the beast race they just showed off is a re-skin of a Roe and the bunnies are Elzen with bunny ears (its ok to disagree with me but this is what i am seeing)

You might not reply and that's fine, but allow me to poke holes in that logic. By that logic:
>Au Ra are just Miqo'te with scales instead of fur
>Roe are burlier Highlanders
>Elezen are Midlanders with elf ears
>Miqo'te are just Hyurs with cat features

If we're going to be reductionist, then apply that argument to everything else and realize how pointless it actually is. It's a better argument for them not to have anything other than Hyurs ingame.

They can't say that they are gender locked due to Lore that is the dumbest thing i have heard since Mi'quote was gender locked as well as Roe but use that "lore" as a shield it will only make this game a typically mmo and if i want that I will play WoW. I believe in them and I want them to try and do better!

The races are genderlocked because the dev team hit a snag with time and resources and could only do one of each race. So they split on a compromise and added one of each race. Hope that clears everything up for you. There's threads that you can look into that have this kind of information readily available, would've been nice of you to explore one of those before typing out this tangent.

This is the real answer here. None of this is about Lore. It's 100% a time/resources debate. As Yoshi P said, each piece of armor in the game has to be remade 2 times now. If they made male Viera and female Hrothgar, they'd have to do it 2 more times. More animations, more everything.

Now, should they have delayed releasing them until they were able to complete the work on both genders for each? Sure, why not. Would people want to wait though? Probably not. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

What many of you don't seem to understand is when they say they can only do 1 new race as they are now that doesn't mean "Well, if you waited longer you coulda done both".

It means that they are only able to make and support 1 new race worth of work moving forward.
So no, if nothing happens to improve their work flow and make this process easier it doesn't matter if it's 5.0 or 7.0 they will not be able to handle more and give us the content we look forward to at the pace we are use to.

Niche for Male Hrothgar is in fact also filled by Roe's, as female Viera is by female Miqote. In this case they shouldnt add any new race since every new race will be just a copy/paste thing.

Including two half races sadly follows the new Mantra of the Devs Team which is existing for to long.
If you don't have enough time, do multiple things on a "okayish" Level instead focusing on making just a few things great.
The whole 4.0 MSQ is the best example for this. Two Stories, that were meh to okayish, instead of one great Story.
