Male Viera... Unsubbing for now.

They might not lose many players, but reputation will take a hit because of gender locking on races that does hold potential to become good. Male Viera and female Ronso are looking to be a hot choice if all goes well if they revoke the gender lock option.

The Reputation of the Final Fantasy Franchise was flushed the Toilette a long time ago, when SE released P2W Chasgrab Mobile Games with the FF License.
And this is just another moment, that will create a lof of bad Press for the Franchise.

As far as I know, they value Dragon Quest much more as a franchise and it is more popular in Japan, compared to FF.
And as I heard, they keep the DQ IP much more protected and safe from bad Press compared to Final Fantasy.

I'm unsubbing until male Viera are added, sorry devs. I love the game, but I have been hoping for this for a really long time (well before Viera were confirmed or hinted at coming to the game). I understand this is probably a little childish, but I'm not worried about appearing that way.

I'm happy the Ronso crowd got their race, but I'm very disappointed we've yet again taken the route of "men big manly" and "women sleek sexy". Games with genderlocking in races and classes NEVER keep my attention. Black Desert looks great, for example, but my favorite classes are female only so I just can't bring myself to play it.

Unfortunately, between BLU, no male Viera, and (so far) no healer... I'm just really let down.

Please consider bringing us male Viera very soon.

Isnt the problem that ppl have been shouting for viera (which is lore-wise an all females race) and now complaining there's no Male viera, knowing from the beginning, there wouldn't be any?
It's like shouting for blu for years, then you get it, knowing ffxi version wouldn't fit into xiv, then being upset it wasnt like Xi.
If ppl are upset about gender locking, then why shout for viera, for years?... Knowing it's female-only race; it's like you're asking to be upset.
However, i heard something interesting on a yt clip, since there's other races on other reflections of the source, there could be male viera there, so they could always find a reason to add them, and many more. Ofc they won't, cause it's to much work.

A) after the male Miqote, they said that they would never genderlock a Race ever again...just to show that this was a lie back then.
B) showing Concept Art for male Viera at a Fan Festival and then say "Nah, they are genderlocked to only female.".

They showed the Pictures of male Viera and let the Bloggers and Youtubers fire the ShB Hype Train for I think it was 3 Months.
Combine those things and you literally ask for a Shitstorm.

And because of the Miqote Story, they hoped that the Devs would take the opportunity to be at least a little creative and add male Viera.
They hoped, that the Devs would remember the male Miqoute Story and say "Okay, if we add them, we do both sexes not just female and be creative here.".

Also, we have the Hrothgar, who are basicly FF14 Ronsos...and they are only male because...I have no clue. There were female Ronsos in FF10.
So they even took a Race with both Sexes and made it a one Sex Race.

In the end, people are dissapointed that FF14 for the past two years is moving backwards in time, in the history of MMO Gamedesign.

Because it's not technical a female only race? That wouldn't even be possible biological speaking. But they made enough teases and comments that made people believe they are going to happen. It's not our fault. If you dangle a carrot in front of a horse just to take it away, don't be surprised that the horse kicks you.

#1, feminine females in feminine clothing isn't a fetish, that's normal. #2 there is no such thing as a "sexy bunny boy", there is only a gross bunny boy. Just stop it. Just consider both gender locked races to be the male and female version of the same race and your salt will clear right up.

uhm, Horthgar are lion ppl, Viera are bunny ppl, somehow that seems very awkward that they would be fe/male versions of same race.

I'm sure they weren't planning to add Viera, but because of massive support, they decided to do it - so it wasn't technically a lie - the lore is what it is, so if people shout for a lore-wise-gender-locked race, then that's on the community, not the devs.
Well the outrage would have been even greater, if they added fe/male Hrothgar but not Viera.
Hrothgar was just added because there was no plans to add male Viera. Well i do recall they were making concept art, but Yoshi also said it felt awkward, so they had no real plans to add it - it's just that ppl see concept art, and then everything is set in stone as an unbreaking promise; it was "just" concept art though, so they were trying to be creative, but decided against it, for whatever reason.

well, if you look at the angler fish, the male is only a fraction the size of the females. they attatch themselves to the female, then fuse with her, and die.
So maybe male viera are tiny little bunnies, that attatch themselves to the hip of the females, then die? wouldn't be so fun to play as a tiny minion, would it?
I get it that it feels like dangling a carrot, but as i said above, it was "just" concept art, not a promise; If i recall, Yoshi even specified that they decided against male viera, when they showed concept art.
