Right, but the Keepers/Miqo'te are a race for XIV. The Viera have existed and had Lore way before this game.Well this is the same nonsensical lore nonsense that people have been spewing here for pages. It makes as much sense for there to be male Keepers and Duskwight Elezen as it does male Viera, all of them are incredibly rare when it comes to lore and it makes no sense lorewise for there to be running thousands of player characters playing as them. Why is male Viera different now all of a sudden? Gender politics don't even need to be taken into account to see that there is a problem, we haven't had gender locked races since 1.0, why is it okay now?
And literally, the entire issue is a Gender Politic.
And with these you can point out to 1.0, when there were no male Miqo'te, neither female Roegadyn or Highlander. Also a race being pulled from one game, doesn't mean it's the same in this game, and again, even before Viera even being mentioned in XIV, we knew male Viera were a thing in Ivalice, just not ever shown. You can make it about politics all you want, to me first and foremost it's about missing game features that we've been trained to expect from the game since they relaunced it. And I'm not saying you can't make the gender politics argument, it's definitely there as well.
A race gender isn't a game feature tho...So calling it a missing feature is a huge stretch. Yeah, everyone knows Males exist, its just that they never really make themselves known. People will always bring up "The-Lore" because thats just what it is. And you can't really counter a race from previous games with established lore against new races in the current game. Im not saying you can't be upset about it, but the arguments don't work. And with these you can point out to 1.0, when there were no male Miqo'te, neither female Roegadyn or Highlander. And 1.0 before ARR 2.0 is a whole different issue I think.
You should probably go google what the word feature means. Playable races in a game are very much a feature. And no, the males not appearing in previous games doesn't mean they can't appear in this game. How do you not see the logical inconsistencies in your argument? You know Xaela and Raen would usually stick to their homelands too? That doesn't mean there aren't a few who have left their homes behind, same could as easily be true for male Viera, even if it's just one rogue. The same is also true for Duskwights, there's not really any npc ones, I can only remember the rival from the lancer class quests. It's just because SE didn't feel like adding them that they are the way they are.A race gender isn't a game feature tho...So calling it a missing feature is a huge stretch.
