That's not even true. The JP audience made this like... horrified gasp when they showed the slides and announced gender lock.The biggest thing we need to understand is that while our community is a big part of their revenue, their primary audience is the JP community. The decisions made will sell well to their target audience. They know that they may take some losses outside of JP but they were calculated decisions and they are prepared for the consequences. They knew what they were doing, who and where to announce what information they released. The gender lock issue was addressed in front of the JP community where they would take less blowback from such a decision. In fact, the JP community will most likely accept Yoshi's reasoning that they did it due to lore reasons.
