this is honestly what I don't get about these people saying they are going to unsub because of this. This is such a small part of the game yet you are going to protest it? It isn't like they are removing content or a class or anything.

I don't understand either. They've been playing all this time as whatever race they are now, yet suddenly because they didn't get the exact option they want, that race apparently isn't good enough anymore and "SE must BURN"!!!!

Say what you will, you'll be back like the others. FF14 is such a good game that unsubscribing for such a reason is foolish.

Makes sense to unsubscribe for a reason such as when there's no current content left to do but for this? No.

I'm pretty mad about this too. Lore can't be the reason they're not doing this right? I mean honestly... if Lala's are beast tribe and you're trying to restore darkness instead of light and all the name changes and stuff... couldn't they just switch it up in the First that Viera female is rare instead of the males?

If you don't like the development decisions a game company makes, it makes perfect sense to unsubscribe, since it'll continue. White knighting is pretty gross in general though.

Races in this game are nothing but visuals. Games like Tera have a problem because they lock classes behind race/gender, this game doesn't have that problem. Look at Au'ra males and females, they are so different that having Hrothgar/Viera is almost equivalent. Doing races this way allows for more diversity. The only thing causing salt is the player expectation and assumption, there is no actual problem on the devs part.

Personally I like the fact we're getting two different races as opposed to only one with a male and female option. The new beast race should give the game quite a bit of racial flavor in my opinion. Perhaps they'll add opposite genders later but they seemed to be pretty clear these would be the last new races we're getting.

I was pretty disappointed we didn't get a new race in Stormblood.
