On a more serious note, I am personally, and selfishly happy that there doesn't appear to be any male Viera incoming. I always gravitate towards playable races in games that only consist of female members (e.g., Asari from ME). But if I step back from selfish mode a little bit, I can see how including male Viera would have resulted in a higher number of happy players overall, since I assume that I am in the tiny minority for whom having male Viera would actually make us less happy---and even then, it's the kind of less happy that we could probably live with.
That's really the most sympathy that anyone who is upset over this is going to get from me, though, as I just can't relate/empathise.

Even if you can't relate, you are putting in a lot more effort to be understanding of others unhappiness than most are being with the typical attitude of I got what I want so why are you whining. Congratulations on being a well rounded adult./My future Viera self waves bye bye.

SE is smart they held back on the gender announcement from the na/eu fanfests to avoid a diablo immortal reaction from the crowd. better to wait for the jp fanfest where most of the audience doesnt care about bunny boys.
I wish companies would just read their audience a lot better than haphazardly going into terrible announcements and wondering why people are mad.

Lots of gratitude to the trolls for helping to keep this thread alive. SE made big a mistake on this one and I really hope they see these threads.
Consumer feedback is critical for improving any product. White knights defending flawed games permit the devs to be complacent, contributing to a game's compounding problems. You've already seen this play out with the bloating of the cash shop, the glamour situation, and the crushing pressure of inventory management. If you love a game, you need to feel free to let the devs know when they've made a mistake. White knights, on the other hand, kill good games.

Interesting take on how people that don't agree with you somehow makes them trolls. Don't kid yourself, hundreds of threads will be posted about this same topic so we all know they will eventually see the feedback. It's fine to voice your concerns, but labeling people who don't agree with you as trolls is pretty immature.
You're assuming they're calling people who don't agree "trolls". There are plenty of people in this thread who are just here to cause trouble, not just disagreeing.Interesting take on how people that don't agree with you somehow makes them trolls. Vocal minority are complaining. The vast vast majority will not care 1 bit.
This is SE's game, as players we have the right to stop paying. We do not have the right to try to force them to change it into what the SJWs want.
