*Nods and grins*
Even back then, that particular video caused a LOT of excitement... so people who remember it will be able to now see the The Crystarium as a very polished version of that.
My hype is at max.
May even go Hrothgar too.
Any word on Benchmark?
Challenge the weak to make them strong.
I can't wait, expansion looks awesome, love the new race and waiting for some changes on MCH
I have to agree with OP.
I am ecstatic about what's to come.
NieR:Automata player, so the 24-man raid strikes a chord.
The thematics are amazing.
Crystal Tower reference, BGM included. Completely melted at first hearing.
And so on, and so forth.
Dancer looks absolutely stunning and the choice of weapons for it is extremely cool.
Everything about this is so precious and needs to be protected!
Even the fact that Viera and Ronso are genderlocked (as in my mind, they should) is something I welcome dearly. Although in Ronso's case, I'm not as adamant, since I was both not expecting them ( must have missed the rumours), nor do I care deeply about them. Loved the Kimahri reference though :P
The only concern I have is that given Dancer is a DPS, we're left with no new healer as of right now. But it's a minor concern because, as was mentioned, there's still a lot more to reveal over time, and there's at least two routes they can take to introduce a new Healer. There's Gaia with her unique weapon, and Minfillia. And HW is an example they are not averse to having 3 new jobs for the expansion.
So the concern is very minor because I see the routes out of it.
Everything else is absolutely perfect, precious AND MUST NEEDS BE PROTECTED!
Now take my munies! *throws munies*
I am pretty excited as well. I can't wait to see the battle changes and see the actions for Dancer. I didn't go into this with expectations either. I am pretty pleased with what we will get.
I absolutely agree, it's an incredible keynote and the expansion has possibly implemented some of the most creative ideas for areas I've seen for an FF14 expansion. It's been a while since I've felt this, with the last time being 5 years ago when I eagerly awaited A Realm Reborn. Heavensward and Stormblood were both unique in their own right with a few creative areas like Azys Lla, though I am a bit disappointed that Stormblood's areas were a step backwards from Heavensward (they might've stuck to the lore a tad too much). This time around however, they've cranked up the dial, and they've impressed me with how they're willing to take gigantic risks with the lore and create new experiences with it.
An almost parallel universe to the one we're living in, High fantasy lands oh so longed for, Dwarf Lalafells with their own little village, the world eternally bathed in a heavenly yet ominous light, and don't get me started on the crystarium. It's incredible and I'm so overjoyed at how they're finally putting the fantasy in final fantasy. Il Mheg with its wonderful array of shining colours, mysterious plant life, and floating lilies. Lakeland with its desolate medieval ruins shrouded in what appears to be cherry blossoms. Crystarium and its elegant fusion between high fantasy and contemporary styles, with the ever so symbolic crystal tower looming over the city, acting almost like a love letter towards the FF series. Eulmore with the classic trope of poor meets rich, though dialed up to the max to an almost dystopian result, featuring rubbish tips and slums with a gaudy, amano-esque tower that offers a view just high enough so that the slums aren't visible from above.
I Just might be in love. If this is the future of FF14 area design, then I can't do anything but give them a round of applause.
Yes indeed, lots to look forward to... and that "Innocence" chap...
I went in to Preview season wanting:
A new healer with a unique playstyle.
A new tank that doesnt primarily hit people with a sword or axe.
Awesome new crafting things.
The rumored world visit system to let me finally see my friends on other servers.
Another cool section of content from an older final Fantasy game made into alliance raid content (FF4 underworld?! FF10 temples? FF7 Shinra stuff?)
I came out of it hoping that Ishgard crafting stuff is the most fucking amazing thing I've ever seen in an MMO, or basically theres nothing I actually care about in this expansion.
Now that I've stopped laughing and found a moment to see beyond amused tears, I re-watched the clips again and man. I wish I'd have been there to see it live. Would have made a better investment than going to Japan for the Olympics.
I certainly loved this Fanfest and I can't wait for 5.0!
I'm glad there was no useless additions of any kind!
